World opinion has always been against the United States (even Nazi Germany polled higher); the only thing that can save us is to purge from the public discourse the malingering malcontents. And the smokers.

"And the smokers." LOL. Sometimes they are funny.

“World opinion has always been against the United States (even Nazi Germany polled higher)”

To a normal person, this would indicate there is something wrong with much of the world, not the US.

If heard it repeated here and elsewhere that the firing of Imus was just a simple business decision but it was a business decision made at the point of a spear.

We could call it the result of a boycott but there was never any boycott to begin with. The people who are reportedly outraged generally don’t listen to Imus anyway. I have yet to see any outrage from the general black population and all I’ve seen is the outrage of a handful of so called “black leaders”.

The goal is to hold... broadcast profiteers responsible for the toxic wares they pedal

I agree -- all hate-speech pedalers must go...

These DUmmies do not understand the concept of "free speech." Jefferson said it was not the proper business of the government to censor "falsehoods." Instead, it was the business of those who opposed falsehoods to defeat them in "the free market of ideas."

The real whine of the DUmmies is that they are losing in the free market of ideas. And since, in their small echo chamber, everyone agrees that they have a handle on the truth, a severe cognitive dissonance is created.

They believe there is a cosmic disorder, since their ideas are not being accepted in real society. The alternative, that they might be dead wrong, is just unthinkable.

Well THAT’S going to be an interesting DIGG thread. I’m starting to believe that place attracts just as many clueless idiots as DU.

BTW, what’s up with that football player Democrat congressman in your neck of the woods? Did he vote for the bill to put an Iraq pullout timetable tied in with troop funding?

We could call it the result of a boycott but there was never any boycott to begin with.

It wasn't a boycott, but it was the threat of a boycott - sort of like the threat of a filibuster that brought down many of Bush's judicial appointments. Issue a threat to Republicans and they head for the fainting couch.

Heh. That’s it. Let’s ban everyone we disagree with! Which, I guess, means there’s no one left on radio, TV, newspaper, internet...

I agree. I don’t ever remember a thread on FR about liberals=hate speech. Idiots, yes. But not hate speech.

you have it wrong..they want all conservatives kicked off so only liberal voices will be left to “speak truth to power”..by the way, liberals get to decide who stays and who goes..in their own disconnected way of thinking (with apologies to thinking people everywhere), only they are intelligent enough to make such decisions..

Yeah, I know. But some of them seem to think we got Imus fired because we didn’t like him. Although...last time I checked, Sharpton isn’t a conservative. It’s really disturbing that they don’t see how amazingly stupid they are. “I don’t like what they’re saying. Let’s execute them!” I can’t imagine a FReeper ever saying anything so stupid.

The moment I read this oxymoronic statement, I realized the same thing you did.

To these idiots - free society = collectivism.
