If heard it repeated here and elsewhere that the firing of Imus was just a simple business decision but it was a business decision made at the point of a spear.

We could call it the result of a boycott but there was never any boycott to begin with. The people who are reportedly outraged generally don’t listen to Imus anyway. I have yet to see any outrage from the general black population and all I’ve seen is the outrage of a handful of so called “black leaders”.

It wasn't a boycott, but it was the threat of a boycott - sort of like the threat of a filibuster that brought down many of Bush's judicial appointments. Issue a threat to Republicans and they head for the fainting couch.
