FReepers for Duncan Hunter Please vote in the FR poll. Fred Thompson is polling way out front here, and I think that is great, but personally I think Duncan Hunter would be better at the TOP of the ticket with Fred Thompson as VP...

He is a great candidate, would make a great President, but so and so is my FIRST CHOICE.. I'm kind of partial to candidate "so and so." I liked what he said about this and that.

oh and one more point I would like to make on GOP polls... I think it does the party a HUGE disservice when participants choose EVERYONE that is not their first choice as “unacceptable” in online voting.. I think folks should be a little more honest so we can really see where the party stands.. this WOULD generate more accurate polls..

actually, as i said TWICE, i do NOT know enough about Hunter to really have an INFORMED opinion,(or for that matter) except that i don't think he can WIN.
focus! the GOAL is stopping the "hilleryBEAST" & Hunter is NOT, imVho, the one.

fyi, "john edwards, the BRECK GIRL" has sent everyone who sent Mrs. Edwards letters of compassion, support & condolence a FUND-RAISING letter & a bumper-sticker. (reportedly MOST of the "senders" were breast cancer patients and survivors.)
"can you say: CRASS, EXPLOITIVE, SLEAZY & CRUDE, children??" "SURE you CAN!!!"
every once in a while something done by the DIMocRATS just "floors me", but this one "takes the cake". (GAG!)

He encompasses the very definition of an opportunist.

as i said, this one SURPASSES bad taste. (fyi, i lost my beloved "VK" in 1984 to cancer.)
as she was an "formerly famous" fashion model, i was begged by the Cancer Society to "use her inspiring story" & "modeling portfolio" to raise funds for leukemia research. i thought that was a BAD idea & refused.
this, otoh, FAR surpasses that BAD (and imVho,exploitive) idea & is CRASS, SLEAZY & EXPLOITIVE of patients & survivors.
it makes me just plain GAG!!!

I am very happy to see Duncan Hunter polling over 10% of FReepers this early in the game.. everyone I speak to about him either tells me he is their “first choice” or tells me that he “would be” their first choice if they thought he could win... this is so frustrating because if everyone who thinks he “can’t win” actually VOTES for him, I think he would win easily...

Gotta agree with you. I want Hunter/Thompson. I’d really love Hunter/Tancredo, but I know it’s only in my dreams. Today, I am a one-issue gal, and that one issue is SECURITY.

Folks, I have been watching this race with an objectionable interest. I think Duncan Hunter is coming along perfectly. Many of the others have jumped in, with too much energy, too early. It’s kinda like the difference between the weed and the flower.
The weed sprouts early and quickly, losing direction. It dilutes it’s energy as it strives to survive.
But, the flower grows slowly and steadily, and is solidly grounded. By the time the flower comes into full bloom, the weed has spent it’s energy, and is fading.
If you don’t know about Duncan Hunter, may I suggest you check out his record? There is no flip-flopping. No character change. No lies, no conning, no betrayal. He is straight forward, honest and *not for sale*.
Check his voting record. Read some of his quotes. This guy is absolutely what we need in the White House (and have needed for a long time!)
Duncan Hunter is as solid as the ‘old oak tree’.
