As I mentioned before, the Russian Nuclear workers pulling out of the Bushehr nuclear site in Iran already clearly indicated they thought the site would be bombed pretty soon. Russian consulatants are reportedly also pulling out of many other places and returning to Russia.

Alan,
I looked up Ma'ariv but it's in Hebrew. I don't know anyone who can read Hebrew. If one of the readers of this your blog could translate a couple of paragraphs of the article I would be very grateful . 5:43 PM

Here's the translation from Ma'ariv:
Two weeks ago there were reports of two Iranian officers missing: Col. Amir Mahmad Shirazi and Brigadier General Mahmad Soultani, commander of the Revolutionary Guards Corps in the Gulf region. The official newspaper of the Corps accused Israel and the US of kidnapping the two and threatened to kidnap American and Israeli officers and to "throw them in the cockfighting arena".
"Iran is on the defense", stated yesterday Nicholas Burns, US Under Secretary for Political Affairs, who also mentioned that Russia's refusal to supply uranium for the Bushar nuclear reactor, as well as the tightening economic sanctions on Iran, proves that "international pressure is working".
It is worth mentioning that the Bush administration has decided to undermine the current Iranian government, and that the reports of mass desertions/defections (sorry, same word in Hebrew) of senior officers could be part of the psychological war waged against the ayatollah regime.
In addition, a German news agency reported, quoting Novosty (Russian news agency), that the US is poised to attack targets located in Iran in two weeks' time. This information is based on Russian military experts' analysis, who claim that Washington has already decided to launch the attack on Friday, April 6th, and that within ten hours different types of missiles (including cruising ones) will pound 20 nuclear facilities in Iran.
Also to be attacked are the central command of the Iranian army, Revolutionary Guards, and Iranian Navy bases, in order to prevent Iran from blocking the Straights of Hurmuz.
Well, they have just blown the surprise element, haven't they...

you all really think we will attack on Good Friday?
"you all really think we will attack on Good Friday?"
Why not? Would be most disconcerting and I believe the bomber pilots would not mind spending their Good
Friday in this manner.
Anyway, Good Friday means nothing to Moslems, and Friday is their Sunday, - day off - so they would be home rather than at work, thus government offices or facilities slated to be destroyed would be mostly, if not completely empty.
"We're not going to invade Iran."
Bombing some 5,000 identified targets is NOT an invasion. So I agree,
We will have retaliatory military clashes on the Iran/Iraq borders - from the very north - Kurdistan - all the way down to Khuzestan, south of the Iraq border but opposite the Gulf states. Specially Khuzestan.
We might see action in Baluchistan, too.
We might invade Khuzetan for tactical and strategic reasons but otherwise it would more likely be small Special Forces and Navy seals. With specific, limited missions.
And of course naval ops.
LOTS of noise but not invasion as I take you to mean it.
We need to convince Sean Penn that we won't attack if he offers hiimself as a human shield.
Then plant a GPS beacon on his sorry ass and make sure he catches the first bomb.
As the bomb is pickled NSA can call his cell phone and broadcast Penn's last words live as he is informed that he has but a few seconds left to utter them.
Very amusing! Very.
C'mon folks, the U.S. is not going to attack Iran.
We are sending a message designed to further destabilize what is a growing public backlash.
There is no other there...there.
Unless and until they do something really stooopid....there will be no attack in April or any other time.
Do you mean the early April time-frame Putin's Russian mouthpieces are spreading around, or in the future in general?
In the immediate future. I don't believe we have the resources to open another front in the Middle East for at least a couple of years.
The Iranians, as well as the Russians with their disinformation dates are earning a lot of sudden profits resulting from the market tension they continue to fuel.
In terms of Iran, strategic air attacks on various high value Iranian targets will be the main course of action, when the orders are issued, in conjunction with some other 'domestic disruptions' the Iranian dictatorship will not have enough manpower to stop, once the cycle gets under way. American military might is not the only allied force which shall be involved in bring down the Tehran régime. Syria's terrorist exporting dictatorship is also on the list for long over due justice, another Russian client state.
Israel is going to be occupied with Hezbollah and Syria...as will the 6th Fleet...
Because the date seems so unlikely for so many reasons makes it the perfect date to launch the attack...we have the experience of Iraq behind us now, there may be no need to attack on the new moon as everyone naturally expects...shrug
That would be interesting to check up on, any recent trips by RATS to rouge nations....hmmm
Time-line it...
Upwards of 5 Iranian RG are kidnapped/defect
The USS STENNIS moves over from the Indian Ocean along with the USS BOXER toward the GUlf...they are joined the the USS EISENHOWER and GET THIS the CHARLES DEGAULLE battle group...from France! LMAO...
This apparently stunned the mullahs a bit...
Condi visits with all the allied heads of the INTEL agencies in RIHYAD (sp?) along with Haden's #2....and France sends a battle group!?!? Whatever it was, even the French couldn't deny it this time.
21,000 troops in Baghdad for polining action? How about 21,000 to take out Sadr's al_Madhi Army on the east side of Baghdad when the sh:t hits the fan?
This is pressure of the utmost kind and it does no good to spend that kind of money and make that kind of threat if you're not willing to follow through
So you all keep yucking it up about there not being an attack, I'll trust my own eyes....
