UNION, Mo. The hulking pizza manager accused of snatching two boys in Missouri is so ashamed of his arrest, he can't face his own mom and dad.
"I don't know how I'm going to explain myself to my parents," said Michael Devlin, who is accused of kidnapping Shawn Hornbeck and Ben Ownby, in an exclusive interview with The New York Post.
"It's much easier talking to a stranger about these things than your own parents."

Get a load of this:
"He was into video games, poker and politics," he said.
Hope he doesn't claim to be a Republican!
that is what I'm hoping and praying as well! Honestly I think Shawn isn't watching TV or reading the news. I think he is busy playing outside on his 4 wheeler, catching up with friends, hanging out at home getting reconnected to his family. Most 15 years olds don't care about the news. Of course Shawn isn't like most 15 years olds, but I think he is also not interested in watching stuff about him.
I'm sure his mom and dad know what has been said in the news and I'm sure they are not sharing it with Shawn.
POLITICS? NAH, can't be a republican! He is to liberal! The kind of politics he probably was into was so far left and was maybe a member of NAMBLA!

NY Post: Hornbeck's Biological Father Was a Convicted Sex Offender
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,245324,00.html
That's probably somewhere on the NYP website too.
Poor Shawn. Bringing up his biological father who is dead serves no purpose. If I were Shawn it would only shame me more. There is NO REASON for announcing this.
Not to mention Oprah having been molested as a child...and her story about crying for days after her half sister sold the story to the press. I lost a lot of respect for Oprah in recent years and this last week seeing her snatch this interview is a great example of why. Oprah has "been there" yet doing the interview must have been her highest priority.
What gets me is that there has to be some reason he was put up for adoption - I don't know if the other 3 brothers are his biologial brothers, or if they were all from separate families - but he says in this interview that his life was happy and normal as far back as he could remember!
Well, for example, do you recall having different parents when you were a kid? Did they die? What happened to them? Were you happy *then*? Sheesh.
You know who I feel for is Shawn's friend back in Kirkwood who must feel horrible with everything he's recently learned about his friend. That boy probably means an awful lot to Shawn.
Or even if they were "biological" brothers, lol - not biologial.
Tony? Yeah, I feel bad for him.
Yeah, I know. It's just a tragedy no matter how I look at it.
Was that his name? The poor kid.
Yeesh - no one was shaming Shawn! What happened to him - whatever it was - was done *to* him by a scumbag criminal! Shawn has nothing, repeat, *nothing* to be ashamed of!
And one more thing about Oprah...I am still so surprised that Oprah didn't do something special for the kid who id'd the white truck. That kid's eyewitness account is what brought the two boys home. And I mean, for goodness sakes, Oprah could have easily paid for this child's education.
I can't help but wonder if the boy was of a different ethnicity...
Anyway...I'm off to bed now. Thanks for the chatting. :)
>>He's not been able to sleep because the noise from a jailhouse booking room keeps him awake all night, he said.
I thought I read he used to torture Shawn by constantly
waking him up during the night. (Shawn did catch up on his sleep during the day when the perv was at work) See how that feels Devil-in?
Devlin is trying to Justify his crime . What a lame propoganda article the reporter should have grilled the skum about the kiddie porn found on Devlins Computer !
Franklin County to investigate how reporter got access to Devlin.
Devlin's attorney Michael Kielty said the New York Post reporter gained access to Devlin only through deception. The reporter visited the jail and signed a visitor's log noting she was "a friend," never identifying herself as a member of the media, Kielty said. She then told Devlin she "was just a local college student interested in the case," Kielty said.
