Israel has plans for nuclear strike on Iran -paper

LONDON (Reuters) - Israel has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons, the Sunday Times newspaper said.

Citing what it said were several Israeli military sources, the paper said two Israeli air force squadrons had been training to blow up an enrichment plant in Natanz using low-yield nuclear "bunker busters".

Two other sites, a heavy water plant at Arak and a uranium conversion plant at Isfahan, would be targeted with conventional bombs, the Sunday Times said.

The newspaper said the Israeli plan envisaged conventional laser-guided bombs opening "tunnels" into the targets. Nuclear warheads would then be used fired into the plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce radioactive fallout.

Israeli pilots have flown to Gibraltar in recent weeks to train for the 2,000 mile (3,200 km) round-trip to the Iranian targets, the Sunday Times said, and three possible routes to Iran have been mapped out including one over Turkey.

The only other way to stop Iran getting nukes would be to lay waste the cities, killing the people who work in the facilities and destroying the industrial base that makes that work possible. Killing, into the bargain, hundreds of thousands if not millions of civilians who didn't {actually} vote for Ahmadinejad.

I'm for laying waste to the cities and people. I feel bad for the innocent ones but we are at war with this culture and it's a war to the death. No peace agreement will ever be signed between our cultures. The only certain way to ensure the war coming out in our favour is to use strategic nukes. Not just in Iran either. More like the entire region.

Anybody that promises to do that will get my vote.

Tactical nuke from Israel might serve as a triggering event though. It would break the ice, so to speak. If they want to do this I support it.

I've been reading Drudge since early '98 and he never linked a headline only back to his homepage, there was no link until he had some text to add. He may have changed this recently, but it's not how he used to do it.

Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.

The attack would be the first with nuclear weapons since 1945, when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Israeli weapons would each have a force equivalent to one-fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb.

Under the plans, conventional laser-guided bombs would open “tunnels” into the targets. “Mini-nukes” would then immediately be fired into a plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce the risk of radioactive fallout.

“As soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished,” said one of the sources.

I sure hope so, but the London Times is putting Israel at serious risk by claiming this. That Imanutjob is just crazy enough to try to take out Israel before they take him out.

And the London Times knows that
