Oh, please. He did it in college. This is why good people won't run for office. Believe it or not, there are good people who did dumb things when they were young. Can you say GW Bush? Let's at least be consistent.

I detest people like you. So you didn't do anything..well..GOODY GOODY for you. Why don't you run for office. We will never have good people if we measure people by the things they did decades earlier. My God.

I rather suspect that I've been detested by better people than you. You've been on this board since 1998 and that's the best you can come up with? How do you know whether I haven't already, or will in the future, run for office? Good grief, take a pill or something.

Well I didn't get drafted until 1969. I figured it would be over by the time I finished college. I was wrong. Mr. Nixon sent me a nice letter. Two of them, as a matter of fact. I went. USMC.

I hope you harbor as much hatred for your enemies as you do for the ones who agree with you.

Maybe I was in the wrong crowd, but I did not and none of my friends or close acquaintances did.
Doubt away, but ...

For DemonRATs Obama's cocaine use is just icing on the cake. There is a huge voter base high on crack right now. They will flood to the polls and vote for Obama because he is the man of the Hood. They will say that if a man can get high and still rise to the top, then why all the fuss about cocaine?
The DemonRATS are home to a society that no longer wants to defend moral values.

I just hope we judge our potential leaders in a more enlightened way, because we are in a world of trouble right now.

Yes, I don't think the cocaine use is trivial, but some of his other ingrained attitudes are more troubling.

Personally, I like good people and wish there were more of them.

Yes, we are in a world of trouble. So how does it help to "detest" your natural allies?

I don't get this 'we are in a world of trouble' stuff.
We have troubles. There is never a trouble-free time.
But we are dealing with them. And most of what's goin on is good. The economy certainly is.

Just caught a snippet of Hannity and the living dead.
Dem face Laura Schwartz (phonetic, or close) dropped a line I predict will become the "(Cindy Sheehan)...who's son was killed in Afganistan" of the 2008 election:
"(Barak Obama) who's father was in Kenya"

I detest people whose kneejerk reaction is to say a holier than thou thing like
"I have never touched any of that stuff; neither have my brothers and sister nor most of my acquaintances of that age, I daresay. Some of us were just as disgusted with it back then as we are today. What's that have to do with anything? NOTHING. Why even bring it up than to pat yourself on the back? Would it stop you from voting for someone? Be honest.

I have never used drugs of any kind and I know a lot of people who have not, and I'm the same age group as you.
To: Wild Irish Rogue
Well, that will get him the black vote, but then the dems already have that vote.

To: Hildy
HONESTLY, I think you are a little wacko on this subject.
There, I'm being honest.
I wouldn't condemn someone for long-past drug use, but it kinda does speak to lack of character (since it's illegal) and it would make me think twice about a presidential candidate.
