Once in a While a Good Deed Does Go Unpunished – The Real Person of the Year, Senator Lieberman
From Sea to Shining Sea ^ | 12/31/06 | Purple Mountains

Senator Lieberman showed the country his courage and his wisdom last year. He showed the cowards, the political opportunists and the know-nothings in the Democratic Party that there are a few people of principle who understand what was at stake in Iraq in 2003 and is even more at stake today.

Lieberman I don't agree much with but it is undeniable he at least has the capacity to fight for what he believes. In other words he is one of those increasingly rare cases of a American male that still has a set of nads left.

He stands as one of the few liberals welcome at my dinner table. At least when he says something I have more reason to believe he is telling the truth than not.

Senator Lieberman presents the illusion of being strong for the war on terror by supporting our troops in Iraq but at the same time refuses to support the war on terror on the home front by voting against the Secure Fence Act because he wanted to attach an amendment to the bill that would have made it easier for terrorists posing as illegal aliens to enter the country by giving them what is tantamount to amnesty through "Guest Worker Program".

His stance against terrorism overall is woefully inadequate. He has conned the people of Connecticut for years by sticking his finger in the wind and seeing which way the political winds blw. He continues to do so with the rest of America.

Senator Lieberman is a liberal; you and I are not. Our country allied with the Soviet Union during WWII because winning the war was more important than other issues.

Senator Lieberman's inconsistent and weak stance regarding the war on terrorism and by association national security, to which I referred to in post #3 is not one of the "other issues". It is the most important issue. Unfortunately Senator Lieberman is playing political games with this issue to gain votes.

You can't be serious. His party ditched him, and he almost lost his seat because he supported the Iraq War. If Ned Lamont had been other than an empty suit, Lieberman would have paid dearly for his stance. Did you go to my site and read the article he wrote?

He is not perfect. He had the guts to say "enough already".

You can't be serious.

My previous posts clearly indicate I am not joking.

His party ditched him, and he almost lost his seat because he supported the Iraq War.

That's a big misconception. His party never ditched him. He was a registered Democrat during the campaign and took donations from Democrats. The Hartford Courant reported on October 17, 2006 Lieberman Wants Democrats To Win he publically stated that he hoped Democrats would win. That attitude is strange coming from someone who supposedly was ditched by his party.

If Ned Lamont had been other than an empty suit, Lieberman would have paid dearly for his stance.

I prefer to deal with the facts instead of hypotheticals. Your speculation on what might have occurred is irrelevant for the very simple fact it didn't occur.

Did you go to my site and read the article he wrote?

The most noticeable part of your article was what it didn't include. You ignored the fact while LIEberman is fighting terrorists at our back door in Iraq he knowingly and willingly advocated leaving the front door wide open for terrorists at the Mexican border. That position is the antithesis of wisdom and courage.

Thanks to all the "conservatives" here who donated time and money to re-elect "Independant" Joe Lieberman INSTEAD of giving it to REPUBLICAN Senators Allen, Talent, and Burns, we now have a 49 GOP - 48 DEM Senate with "Majority Leader" Reid. If the useful idiot wing of the GOP had worked their butts off for Talent, Allen, and Burns (all of whom lost by less than 1%), instead of fawning over Lieberman, the current makeup of the U.S. Senate would be:

52 GOP
46 RATS (including Lamont, D-CT)
1 SOCIALIST
----------------
1 ABSENT RAT (Tim Johnson, D-SD)

In short, Harry Reid would like to thank all the RINOs who donated to Loserman.
