I, too, loved that book as a kid...and I don't think the Steve Martin movie has anything to do with the book...personally.

Wow, I am delighted to find another reader of the original book.

Wasn't that father a most delightful man?

The movie? Eh....they're never like the book I don't suppose.

The first Steve Martin "Cheaper By The Dozen" movie was ok, but the second one, flat out stunk.

I love Steve Martin, but most of his recent movies (Sgt Bilko anyone?) have been horrible.

I agree with LiteKeeper. The only similarity the movie had to the book was the title.

The book is a joy to read!
