First, he turned a kind inquiry about his son from President Bush into a confrontation. I haven't been in contact with much media this past week, what is this in reference to?

How long before Webb is going to be whining and sniveling about the darfur? And expecting our guys to go in and risk their lives?

Did these people in Virginia actually think that because he was once secretary of the
navy, that he would be one of them? Suck it up people, you voted this jerk into office.
Expect no clemency.

There was a get-together, I don't remember the exact details, but the President was meeting the new senators - when the President met Webb he inquired about how his (Webb's) son (who is a corporal in the USMC) is doing in Iraq. The first thing out of Webb's mouth was some sort of question about the motives for going to war. The president said, "I didn't ask that, I asked how your son is doing in Iraq?" Webb remained beligerent and withdrew .. Webb wrote that he wanted to punch the President because he was so angry yada yada ... but the President was doing a respectable thing, asking about his son, and Webb turns it into a media event - disgusting!

Wow, what a jackass. As if we didn't know that already. And then he grandstands about "his son" and wanting to punch the President.
Man, I am always wondering if I should possibly break my "No Democrats" voting streak, and they always do crap like this that reminds me they're all nuts, all the time.

Virginia like Pennslyvania have elected idiots and deserve what fate is going to befall them.
If it was just Virginia that had to suffer it wouldn't be too bad, but it's the entire country.

I suspect Webb will be a fine substitute for Cynthia McKinney.

He is absolutely, certifiably, undeniably NUTS, and it is only going to get worse. The guy thinks that he has been dissed his entire life because he is Scots-Irish and isn't from "the elite". He has a chip on his shoulder the size of Gibraltar, a hair-trigger temper, and a poorly disguised disdain for women and minorities.
I bet we will end up having a daily thread about his dealings in DC, and he will be THE most disliked senator in Virginia's history within one year.

Considering the right wing talk show hosts who said they didn't care if the democrats took over the senate because the President needed to be punished.........I'd say their constant badmouthing of the President and republicans had a big part in what happened to America and the civilized world on election day.

I didn't know about his chip on shoulder "wahh, I'm Scots-Irish and have suffered" crap. (I'm an AMERICAN of Irish ancestry, btw.) What a perfect Democrat, got his victim status all set and everything.

Unfortunately for Va. and Pa. we have to put up with Webb and Casey (the senate's answer to Abbott and Costello) for six long years, not two.

I moved to Virginia just in time to cast my vote for Allen. I just wish I could have had time to do some campaigning for him. Well, at least now I've got 6 years to help get him out of office.

Perhaps Webb wanted to demonstrate how Bangkok men "show love" for small boys, and the Vets found it inappropriate.
