There was a get-together, I don't remember the exact details, but the President was meeting the new senators - when the President met Webb he inquired about how his (Webb's) son (who is a corporal in the USMC) is doing in Iraq. The first thing out of Webb's mouth was some sort of question about the motives for going to war. The president said, "I didn't ask that, I asked how your son is doing in Iraq?" Webb remained beligerent and withdrew .. Webb wrote that he wanted to punch the President because he was so angry yada yada ... but the President was doing a respectable thing, asking about his son, and Webb turns it into a media event - disgusting!

Wow, what a jackass. As if we didn't know that already. And then he grandstands about "his son" and wanting to punch the President.
Man, I am always wondering if I should possibly break my "No Democrats" voting streak, and they always do crap like this that reminds me they're all nuts, all the time.

Webb actually went further - saying that the confrontation was a symbolic "leadership" act on his part. Essentially admitting that the confrontation was intentional and staged on his part.
To Webb, engaging in staged theatrics designed to insult the President shows what a good leader he is (*snort*). I actually hope he keeps it up - maybe even staging some faux theatrics at the State of the Union next month - and becomes more of a public embarassment to his newly-adopted Party.

Bush should have Webb's son rotated out of Iraq. I guess that is what Webb and his son want.
