I have a turkey question that I hope someone out there can answer. I am cooking TWO turkeys for Christmas. They are the Publix pre-cooked young turkey breast turkeys. Okay, each one will say to cook for 3 hours in the oven. However, since I will be cooking TWO of them at the same time together in the oven, would I need to cook them for longer? And if I need to cook them longer, how much additional time should I add?

Let me know if you want on the DUmmie FUnnies PING List.

If they're pre-cooked, why do they need to be in the oven for three hours?

Rangel needs to be taken out in the 2008 primary

Just redeploy him, like you did Murtha.

How big is your oven and how big are the turkeys?

If he doesn't quit pulling this crap he has to be removed.

Sorry, he has a deferment.

**Remember when Congressman Charles Rangel introduced a proposal in 2003 to re-instate the draft?**

YES! And I sure did have a hard time convincing people that it was a DEMOCRAT who proposed the stupid bill.

**It puts the pro-war idiots on the spot and makes people think.**

Makes people think what? That Democrats want everyone to go to Iraq? You're right, it will make them think that.

Myth If one turkey takes 3 hours to cook, two turkeys take 6 hours.

Fact Cooking two turkeys of about the same weight does not double the roasting time. In fact, cooking two takes no longer than if there were only one bird in the oven.

Microwaves are affected, conventional ovens aren't.

They are the Publix pre-cooked young turkey breast turkeys.

Are we talking turkey breasts or entire turkeys?

If you have two turkey breasts, they will probably fit in one roaster, and you can cook (actually, re-cook) both for the time recommended for one (though three hours still seems EXCESSIVE, way way excessive, for a reheat).

If it's two separate whole turkeys, I congratulate you one the hugeness of your oven. You may have to swap the turkeys' positions in the oven occasionally. Go the thermometer route to determine doneness. I believe that's 165 degrees in the middle of the thigh. Maybe a little less since it's already cooked.

As long as you allow plenty of circulation around the birds the cooking time should be the same as for one bird. Get an instant-read thermometer and stick it in the thickest part when you think it is done. The thermometer should read at least 165 degrees. Any more only dries it out.

# of items in the oven only matters significantly when the oven is a microwave. With a conventional oven and sufficient space in the oven to allow air to flow freely, I don't think you'll need to adjust temperature or cooking time at all.

He's only hurting the party now. . . .

Oh, but that's the plan, mon ami! The Perfect ROVIAN Plan!

We let you Dems gain the narrowest of margins in the House. This puts your longest-lasting Dem dinosaurs, from the bluest of districts, in charge of committees and thus on public display. The increased media attention EXPOSES their nuttiness and sheer moonbattery, setting up a strong voter backlash AGAINST Dems, across the board, in '08. WE get swept in on a "return-to-sanity" wave. House, Senate, White House, we run the table. All this is worth two brief years of Dem control in the House. And meanwhile, we get all this great DUFU material as a bonus!

(Actually, to be honest, the Senate thing got away from us a little bit, and the Dems got one or two seats they weren't supposed to get. Hey, macaca happens!)

Buy a probe thermometer. Put the probe into the breast. When the temperature on the probe reaches 150, take them out, cover them with foil and leave them to rest for about 1/2 an hour.

They'll continue to cook on the counter until the breast meat reaches an internal temp of about 160. Don't go by the times on the package. Internal temp is a much safer way to do it.

We don't need idiots in high ranking positions. . . .

Well, you've got a whole House full of committee chairperson idiots now.

Say, does Sheila Jackson-Lee get to chair the committee on sending men back to Mars?
