I hope that's just the sting of losing and will be short-liveed. FR was never so united as we were under Clinton. Getting him out of office and drawing attention to his crap was something everyone got behind. It may be idealistic of me, but I am hoping we get that unity back.

We're too "nice" in so many cases, letting Pelosi and Kennedy and Kerry, etc., etc., etc., say dumb things, or things that are not true, and not coming back, and coming back strong and hard with the facts.
We needed some Lynne Cheney moments.

Apparently they don't understand that it takes a 2/3 vote in the Senate. Do any of them really believe that, after the way the Dems protected Clinton, the Republicans are going to throw out a Republican president?
---
The short answer is: yes.
They expect that any Republican who wants to keep his seat will vote to throw President Bush and Vice President Cheney under the bus. When it doesn't happen they will call them traitors. The NYT publishing secret information was not treason. Scooter Libby gossiping about publicly known info was treason.
It is crazy, but they believe it. It's part of the charm of the DU ant farm.

Speaking of Lynne Cheney, has anyone noticed our Republican women have more guts then our Republican men? Lynne Cheney, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin just to name a few.

Oh, I didn't mean this thread. I meant FR in general.

I don't think the country wants moderates or liberals. But I think that could be what our leadership will learn from yesterday.

They'll go after a lot of different people in the Administration, and that's to be expected. They'll make fools of themselves in the process, get nothing done for two years and we'll all have a good laugh at them.
But if they cut funding for Iraq and force our troops into defeat the way they did in Vietnam, I don't think anyone here will be laughing. I've heard that most of the dems that won yesterday aren't moonbats, but you never know. They mostly act like children and are therefore susceptible to peer pressure.

"In a weird way, the Democrat victories in the House and Senate yesterday were a good thing in the long run."
Yeah, think of 1976 and what followed four years later. And consider that the Republicans are much better organized than they were thirty years ago. There are also many more outlets for the conservative message (New Media) today than then. Take heart... We will be back

"I think they want people in office who will get something done! "
That is one issue that has really bothered me. We had the majority and acted like the Dems were in charge. Maybe, the Republicans will act like they are in charge, now. LOL!
To: roses of sharon; PJ-Comix
Actually, they're STILL DUmmies, because even though they got a victory last night, many of them had to run as conservatives to pull it off. And they had an assist from the conservative idiots who thought that letting the Republicans lose would "teach them a lesson". Way to go guys, you just shot yourselves (and everyone else) in the foot. The DUmmies couldn't have pulled it off without your help.
Whatever. Life goes on, and the general character of the DUmmies will not change.

Mr. Silverback -- into the top 50 like Eeyor? Say it ain't so!
Dude, it is gonna be all right! They were able to hide their true character during the campaign, but it's sorta like dating someone new. The first six months or so, both sides are trying to put their best foot (feet?) forward, but eventually, all of the warts become visible -- some sooner than others.
Chin up!

YES--just like Lynne--she made her point, (she HAD a point!) and did it politely, firmly, and with class.

I hope the leadership will look for guidance from some of the "real" people in DC and throughout the US, not just the big mouths.
Oh oh--news alert that Rummy is resigning.

Yes, LOL! I KNOW there is so much more to some of the issues, than what it appears on the surface, but my gosh, they (esp. the Pres.) have the power to "just do it" and should!

No...I'm sorry, President Bush, you just lost my faith. I didn't cry at all last night. Now I am. Rummy's the reason I wanted to intern at the DoD. He's the reason I wanted to stay there. Now...I don't know. This was not the answer.

Politics or football, you don't take a series of drubbings like last night and come away unscathed. Someone needs to be replaced. Rummy's number is up. It's just politics.
