Absolutely True:" Rather Continues to Defend 60 Minutes TANG Story: Just moments ago on North Carolina's Morning News with Jack Boston on Raleigh-based News-Talk 680 WPTF, former CBS anchor Dan Rather defended the infamous 60 Minutes story using forged documents to attack President Bush's service with the Texas Air National Guard as being, "absolutely true," a charge a testy Rather reiterated at least four or five times.
Rather not only defended the report, but the validity of the forged documentation that the report relied on, saying it had never been proven false (despite copious evidence to the contrary).
I've contacted the station, and hope to get audio of that portion of the interview posted later in the morning.

Will Blather be a new host on FOX now, since they had him on as a guest commentator over the weekend?

Rather's gonna be on Imus soon...can't recall exactly when. That should be fun.

Does he think this is grounds for impeachment?
Please tell Dan Bush can't run again.

Rather not only defended the report, but the validity of the forged documentation that the report relied on, saying it had never been proven falseDan Rather. Still asking his opponents to prove a negative after all these years (and, despite the logical fallocy of such, the documents have been proven false beyond a reasonable doubt, but Dan hasn't been reasonable for years).

I have a tiny smigen of pity for Dan. He, AlGore, and Kerry all appear to have lost their minds along with their credibility.

One of the commentors on the Conferderate Yankee blog asked if Dan were taking PR advise from John Kerry.
Maybe the reverse?

It is still Viacommie, like SeeBS was. And it will boost Jon Stewart's "credibility" as an anchor. They like to play up the "this is just a comedy show" angle so their bias lies and distortions (putting other words in the President's mouth) are not challenged.
Don't be surprised to see Jon taking the anchor chair from Katie some day.

Dan Rather has now placed the story that ended his modest career into the category of 'Revealed Truth'. Nothingno evidence, no arguments, nothingwill ever cause him to acknowledge that the story was false on its face and its documents patently obvious fakes.
If I didn't know better, I'd suspect that Rather has a religious bone or two in his body...

"Nice shoes, Mr. Rather. Oh, and just one more thing...
It's probably just me, but there's something about these memos that doesn't add up."
