Introducing SIGINT to FR. This intro is also a solicitation. You too can add geographically siginfigant events to the site. Time is a limitation for all of us so it's reasonable to spread the effort out among concerned citizens. The format is simple - or if it's not, freepmail me.

About HUMINT - the blog:

HUMINT is the combination of two words, Human and Intelligence. The United States Military and various Intelligence agencies are the originator of the term. It commonly applies to clandestine or overt operations in which intelligence is gathered through personal interactions with the enemy.

My discretionary attention usually orbits around religion, politics, war, terror, related art and history. The term humint is used here as a name. It was chosen by me as a user ID on the website www.freerepublic.com. Its connotations in the context of blogging should be obvious.

Explanation of humint images from the top left:

• The blog icon in the URL box is the eye of SUN TZU
• The background to the title bar are the eyes of Theo van Gogh - murdered for freely expressing his art and politics.
• The Large icon on the left in the title region is an image of SUN TZU - A collection of Chinese writings, old enough not to generate fear, but dangerous enough to be valuable.
• The smoking skeleton is a painting by the late Vincent van Gogh - on one occasion I used the image on www.freerepublic.com as an announcement, as if I were the smoking skeleton, patiently waiting for replies from other bloggers I had signaled.
• The woman's face is from a French painting about the French revolution. Liberty Leading the People, embodying the Romantic view of the French Revolution of 1830; its painter Eugène Delacroix.

SIGINT is Signal Intelligence. Essentially, any RF you emanate, can be identified/used against you. Not the same as what you are are referring to here, and being an ol CTT3 from the Navy, had me very confused.
