Yes, I Realize She Says No. That Is Not The Point. It Is The Quality Of Republican Leadership To The Democrats Since 1968. Americanism vs. A Domestic Insurgency.

Lets get past this election fairly intact before we look ahead to 2008 and beyond.

On domestic issues, she would make Mike DeWine look like Ronald Reagan. If she was not a minority (same for Osama Obama), she would not make the list of top 1000 potential candidates. No thanks.

I would do almost anything to see to it that she is not elected. I detest her work.

She doesn't want it, she has damaged her reputation in recent dealings with the Palestinians and Israel, and she is pro-abortion.

I like Condi, but not as a presidential candidate.

Her leadership in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been lacking.

I would hate to be the Secretary of State. All that diplo-speak which means nothing at all. All those resolutions which mean nothing at all. All that "making nice" with the foreign secretaries of Russia and China when all the while they are supporting Iran and North Korea and looking for any occasion to stab us in the back.

I do trust her more than Powell. Her loyalty to the President is steadfast. For that, I admire her.

Me neither. Were she white or male there wouldn't be a single person on this board who would be in favor of her. She'd be nothing but a cynical affirmative action pick.

Ditto. While Ms. Rice has many admirable qualities, President of the United States is not an entry-level elected office. Throughout American history the only exceptions have been for war-hero Generals who by the nature of their backgrounds have shouldered similar life-or-death executive responsibilities.

Why she wouldn't is in the Cal Thomas's interview with her.

I'm not so sure.

This sounds like the same reasoning as a Colin Powell presidential bid. Condi is brilliant, no doubt. But she has not established her own vision independent of Bush.

This speaks well to her role as an extension of Bush. This cannot be criticized. However, her viability as commander in chief rests upon her independent vision of America, not as an extension of Bush policy. She is not in a position as Secretary of State to do such, unless she betrays the President. Maybe in '2012.

She's no run-of-the-mill entry-level anything. If she ran, i'd vote for her, and would be glad to have her as our President.

She is light on domestic policy and elected executive experience. However, she'd make a fine VEEP. Let's see how she handles that before moving her up to the top job.
