To answer the question in the op about how my life has been over the last 6 years:
With one minor exception...pretty damn good.
I got to put the uniform back on full time.
I married the woman of my dreams.
I adopted two wonderful children.
And I have the ability to provide for all of them put food in their bellies and a roof over their head.
Oh and I've managed to get a pretty nice raise every year too.
Not too shabby if you ask me.

So, though I enjoy my job, make a good wage, have a wonderful wife, great kids, interesting and varied hobbies...
Sure sounds like life sucks for this DUmmie. Thanks Mr. President.

And on top of that walldud has done a complete re-write of history on what happened.DUmmies don't let facts get in the way. It's what they 'BELIEEEEEVE' that's relevant. Next to Bush, FR is 'Great Satan #2'. If it's not a Rovian plot it's a FReepian plot.

"homelessness became big in January 1981 and disappeared in January 1993"
This was the biggest farce of the 80's.
Just about 1980/81, state mental hospitals were being closed in droves, and their residents being ejected to .... the streets.
The reason? The ACLU and "patients rights" advocates were making headway in state courts to prohibit the involuntary admission of people into hospitals, including those who could not think, care, or decide anything for themselves. Well over 50 percent of "the homeless" were indigent mental patients with nowhere to go.
And it was a leftist, liberal program from start to finish.

I remember walldude and his attempted sabotage.
I bet that now that he's "the man", he wouldn't let one of his employees get away with such actions against a client.
And now that he's working for himself, he gets to know what it's like to actually have to pay Uncle Sam his due every quarter. He also gets to pay double the social security payment as when he was employed. A few more months, maybe he'll realize that policies advocated by DUmmies will work against him and his business.

Due to a stupid mistake I made posting on DU a freeper got me fired from my job. With no savings and only 2 weeks vacation pay coming to me I went to work for myself. Talk about crazy. Well, we struggled even harder for about 6 months and then business took off. I'm now making triple what I was when I quit my old job. We are climbing out of debt fast, and next year at the age of 43 I will finally be able to buy my own house. If we can get the Dems back in charge and fix Iraq, the health care crisis and a few other things life may just be looking good. Wait till this DUmmie finds out that, as a self-employed business owner he is the target of the Democrat's economic envy.

I've been driving in California since 1974. People used to use their turn signals MOST of the time. Now, it seems
that particularly younger drivers almost never use them. today I was at a funeral and somebody's cell phone went off not just once, but twice during the service. Bad enough the first time. You'd think the person would have turned it off after the first time.
This sounds like a LFT! (Lousy FReeper Troll!)
But the guy losing his job...kind of funny. I like how he brags about making all this money while others on that board, particularly the last poster, talk frankly about their lack of money. Maybe he should help some of his DUmmie brothers out, huh?

To the DUmmies, anyone who isn't a hardcore leftist is a "Freeper."
I'd still like to know what he was expecting to happen at a Christian retailers trade show. If it was that repugnant to him, what was he doing there in the first place? It appears he was a private contractor meaning he had plenty of latitude in declining the job from the outset.

walldude was an IDIOT. He sabotages a trade show he is working at and then brags about it online in DUmmieland. Now he is crybabying about losing a job that he sabotaged.

Doesn't seem to have learned anything from it, does he? I don't think a few months would be enough, either. Brain dead is brain dead. If there were any way to check it out, I'd put up a bundle that I'm right, too. :)

At the time, when hospitals dumped mental patients on to the streets, the media blamed President Reagan.
Personally, I suspect Karl Rove. Those patients are now at Democratic Underground--supplying us all with laugh after laugh! Thanks, PJ.

As I read through this I realize one thing: The Dummies depend on government for their happiness and the cours of their life.
Pathetic.

"I live in what you might call a liberal/progressive stronghold, where more Bushco related depression might be obvious...but I do think it is affecting the whole country"
I live in a liberal area now and I was expecting this 'depression' to really be noticeable when I moved here 4 months ago. Where is it? I see some bumper stickers bashing Bush but people in general seems to be enjoying life and I was struck by how friendly and helpful people are here. There have been no confrontations or anything.
