Federal Government Reform Now!

The federal government has become so large and so detached from the people that it’s nothing like what the Founders intended. The Constitution was specifically written to define and limit the federal government’s powers with most power residing with the states. Yet Congress tries to control and meddle in veery aspect of our lives. Think of it this way: There are 535 representatives in Washington D.C. (House & Senate), yet there are 300 million people in the United States. Do you think 535 people should have so much power or were ever intended to have so much power?

Every election cycle we get the same old promises and little ever changes. Government gets bigger and at the same time does less that benefits us. When are we going to find some politicians that aren’t politicians, who aren’t there for the power or personal fame and personal agendas? When are we going to elect people who actually know what it means to represent the people and not themselves?

In this election year, people authentically interested in representing the people and reigning in the federal government have a chance to prove it. The following is a list of proposed Constitutional amendments that we want enacted. Enough of the flag amendments and other trivial things, the Constitution’s primary purpose is to limit federal government. Let’s focus on that. Get these proposals to your federal elected officials, regardless if they’re up for reelection. Let’s see if any of them have the courage to do what’s right and abandon their partisan bickering.

-----------------------------------------------

The Constitution should be amended to protect private property: No private property shall be taken by any government to be given to another private company, organization or person. Ownership of property and homes is a cornerstone of this nation.

The Constitution should be amended to prevent judges from overturning majority votes of the people: No legislation enacted by a 2/3 vote of any states’ population can be overturned by a judge or group of judges.

The Constitution should be amended to allow line-item vetoes by the President: The irresponsibility of legislators wasting money on pet projects has spiraled out of control. The President needs the power to stop these wasteful expenditures.

The Constitution should be amended to abolish the IRS and the complex income tax code. A fairer alternative such as the Fair Tax needs to be implemented as soon as possible.

This amendment should also abolish property taxes as a legal means for taxation in this country (or this can be part of the private property amendment). The government should have no claim on your private property. Nor should it be able to tax your home ad infinitum.

This amendment should also abolish death taxes. People are taxed all their lives and it's an absolute crime for governments to steal from them after they're dead.

------------------------------------------------------

Share these with everyone you know, including your elected officals. It's time that we hold Washington accountable and reign them back to where the Founders intended. More reforms may be added to this post, this is just the beginning. Add your comments below. All will be reviewed and considered. Join the revolution today!
