First off, lets remember who greeted us with flowers during their liberation and who didn't. Albanians in Kosovo welcomed the US and Brits with flowers when we entered kosovo. Next lets talk about "war crimes" both sides committed attrocities against each other, there is no question about that. I have served lengthy tours in kosovo, and I will say that 95% of the albanian muslim population (not all albanians are muslim) enjoy and love the united states. Having seen numerous hotels, and resteraunts named after our cities and generals their hospitality can't be found in any other country we have troops actively patrolling and conducting SASO (stability and support operations and war). Serbians disgraced the entire geneva conventions, the law of war, and fought like a band of communist heathens. Lining up women, children to be raped, and murdering the men is how cowards fight. Its a disgrace to any uniformed soldier. Albanians themselves fought and committed attrocities, but they were more worried about defending their tiny villages. I have spent years working with Serbs and Albanians, and I will say that Albanians were claming to me about how to go and fight in Iraq. They differ on ideals and opinions of the Arabs and Wahabist. Many albanians do serve in Iraq with the Albanian contigent and fight along side americans. I didn't see flowers being thrown at our troops when we liberated baghdad. Serbians, on the other hand supported and actively shared intelligence with Saddam Hussein. You can't take sides in the balkans because they were both equally at fault for war crimes, but I will say that Albanians come no where CLOSE to al-qaeda. Infact, any time we would hear of al-qaeda types or extremist, the locals would pin point them out and tell the americans. They dont want anything to do with them. European muslims and orthodox albanians see them as destroying their westernized ideals. I am really sick and tired of hearing about this clinton-alqaeda-kosovo link because its minimal. Foreign fighters can be found everywhere, but that doesn't mean the entire population supports them. When war broke in kosovo it was hard to keep tabs on people, groups, and resistance movements they had no structured government, just bombed out villages and squalors that no american would even dare step foot into. Before you guys keep posting all these "facts" and sources read deeper into where they are coming from because for the most part albanians support the US and our war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kosovo has also allowed us to operate a secret prison to interrogate al-qaeda captured in the WOT.

I am really sick and tired of hearing about this clinton-alqaeda-kosovo link because its minimal. Ok, what about the Clinton/Bosnia/Iran?alQeada links? Are you tired about hearing how the Iraq war is illegal? We had no right to enter into KosovO. Going into KosovO would be like going into Chechnya. Are you for that too???

After careful consideration of your point of view, just let me say....

Any "conservative" who supported the US/NATO/Isamic aggression against Christian Serbia (and that includes Bill Kristol, Brit Hume, John McCain and--if IIRC--George Will) is nothing more than a wannabe conservative. If McCain and "Hitlery", "Hildabeast" (or whatever people here call her) are at the top of the ticket, I'm leaving it blank. I owe that much to the thousands of Serbs murdered by NATO bombs for the "crime" of rolling back Islamic encroachment. Not only is the "Kosovo Campaign" the only war NATO ever won, it is the only war it COULD win. Let's not forget it only took a Russian airborne regiments' seizure of the Pristina airport (a bold, heroic move) to finally put a stop to this butchery.

"European muslims and orthodox albanians see them as destroying their westernized ideals." European Muslims have westernized ideals? In which alternative universe?

Is your opposition mainly due to the religious reasons? We can invade Islamic countries but not Christian ones?

Funny. I thought a first that I may find a coherent thought buried in there somewhere.
Silly me.

We shoudln't invade ANY country without a darned good reason. Invading Afghanistan (Islamic) made sense--getting rid of the Taliban and al-Quaeda's infrastructure. Invading Grenada (marxist-leninist)made sense--eliminating a communist outpost on our doorstep. Attacking (we didn't really invade) Serbia was cowardly and pointless; it was no threat to the USA or its interests AT ALL. A waste of treasure and (mostly Yugoslav) lives.

Okay - I was just clarifying.
What degree of threat? Long-term strategic or short-term imminent would be required? I can safely put Afghanistan in short-term imminent threat and maybe Grenada in long-term (although not sure how much since Cuba hasn't brought about a land invasion yet). Not being offensive - just clarifying your statement.
I believe Kosovo was a threat to the stability of NATO and our surrounding allies. Was it a threat to the US itself? No.

No it wasn't, you really need to get your facts straight before even attempting to post on this issue.

I believe Kosovo was a threat to the stability of NATO and our surrounding allies. Was it a threat to the US itself? No. Ok, start naming the countries that a civil war within Serbia would threaten? The only threat at that time in history would have been all the people of the US demanding Clinton resign because of all the front page stories on the WPost, WTimes and the NYTs about China getting our nuclear and missile technology from the US. Thankfully to KosovO, KosovO took the headlines off these papers.
