At a rally held earlier this week to encourage Governor Schwarzenegger to veto bills that would promote homosexuality in Californias public schools, I made the following statement:
Our governor is a Republican. We represent what are called values voters. No Republican has ever gotten elected in any state without the vote of values voters. No Republican has ever gotten elected in this state without our vote.
Can a Republican get elected without our vote? There are those who are betting that this is not true.

Will supposed "VALUES" voters get all the Flaming Communist Democrats elected by not voting or throwing their votes down some third party black holes like a bunch of fools?
That will never happen.
Of course such a disaster is easily avoided. Hopefully our elected representatives are not so obstinant as to completely ignore the conservative wing of their party.
The voters are value voters, growth voters, balanced voters, target maturity voters, and index voters. Each of these could happen in small, medium and large cap varieties, as well as extended/total market flavor. There also exist international and emerging markets types.
I agree we slide the candidates more and more right, I can not be so immature as to expect all or nothing every election, because doing that guarantees us we always get the NOTHING!
I hear this all the time, yet I do not see evidence conservatives are doing this at all. In fact we've been DAMN loyal voters.
Instead what I've seen, year after year, is our representatives talking a good game during the campaign, then sliding further and further left once in office.
And I think its unreasonable to expect conservatives not bitch about it.
My point is if GOP candidates want the conservative vote, then EARN it. Is that so unreasonable?
Leaving aside for a moment it was conservative grassroots that started the process that threw Davis out & created the opportunity for Arnold to step in & win the office in the first place...
I never bought your claim that conservatives stayed home. In fact I think its more likely this is more state democrat/media spin intended to further marginalize the right (and the GOP party hacks are all too happy to oblige). Kinda like how they revised reality and turned prop 187 from a highly popular and successful initiative into a GOP albatross.
Can you prove it?
Granted no Republican can get elected without voters that 'value' politicians that know what limited government is about.
Unfortunatly that lets out the puritan wing of the party as a source for candidates. They are certainly unelectable in CA.
Sure, how many of the conservatives did you call on that election day in 2005 to vote?
I called quite a few in my circle (who are usually pretty passionate) and a lot of folks forgot it was voting day.
Meanwhile on the other side every government employee and union thug was out going door to door to get people to vote to keep them in power.
It was obvious what happened. There was no major Republican/conservative turnout.
Proof? Even the proposition about notifying parents of the child's abortion (or something similar to that) failed to pass.
That is big proof that people who should have been energized for change stayed home and the left won.
Anecdotes. Do you have proof?
Prop. 73: Waiting period and parental notification before termination of minor's pregnancy.
Failed completely and you want to tell me lots of Republicans and other conservatives came out to vote?
That is absolute proof you did not have lots of Republican/conservatives out there voting.
Results say it all. That is the absolute proof, an election.
That is what happens whe you vote Democrat, don't vote or vote for a third party.
Have you heard the term 'swing vote'? I think its more likely they're who didn't turn out.
An election is pretty good proof skeeter, LOL. I already told you I was calling up people that day and many who were conservative didn't even remember it was a day to vote. Meanwhile the government employees and unions were walking door to door lying about why they wanted people to vote their way.
There was a terrible lack of conservative base of all kinds that day, and it was disappointing. If some of those Props passed, as I mentioned Arnold would not be more to the left now. IMO anyway.
((( ping )))
[Will supposed "VALUES" voters get all the Flaming Communist Democrats elected by not voting or throwing their votes down some third party black holes like a bunch of fools?]
The values of these voters is moral values as established by the one true God of Israel and His Son Jesus Christ. Our values are being trampled on by the leftist communist atheistic democrats and the mad right wing atheistic republican liberals who have destroyed the conservative Christian based constitution. We are a representitive republic and need to vote for those who represent us, the republicans are a moderate social liberal party of fools and liars and can not represent moral values any longer.
The republican party is the other liberal party and moral bible believing Christians are not like a harlot that will foolishly stand for immoral values as many do on the left wing democrat communist party.
The last 8 years has made me see that there is no conservative party for Christians.
