Freepers, please visit my husband's new political blog! I hope you will enjoy it, please use the link provided at the bottom of his blog to tell us what you think. I apologize for the vanity, but I think all Freepers will enjoy having a new conservative blog to visit. Thank you! The site is: http://www.LiberalsCostLives.com I hope the link works.
Pinging the misc ping list
Blog flogging is not nice. It's also not news.
I have a blog. I have never mentioned the URL for that blog on Free Republic. It stands on its own merits.
Please don't flog blogs here.
Got it on my Favorites list.
Euphonious alliteration 'blog flogging,' but I think just spam, more spam, will do.
Well, an individual post mentioning a blog isn't really spam, but it's certainly not news. Since there's an entire section of FR devoted to Personal posts and Blogs, such posts don't belong in the News/Activism topic at all.
I'm sure she didn't intend to violate one of the many unwritten arbitrary rules of etiquite here. And she certainly doesn't deserve to have rude keywords posted to her thread either.
Thank you for your kindness and assistance!
Thank you, hope you all enjoy it!
I completely agree.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. : )

From your own profile page: However, I expect every person to treat every other person with a certain degree of courtesy and respect, unless that person behaves in a dangerous, threatening, or discourteous manner.
She posted it in Bloggers & Personal so let it be.

Actually, it was moved to Bloggers and Personal from News/Activism, where it was first posted. When I wrote my response, it was still in News/Activism.
As I said, I have a blog, too, but I'd never post about it in the News section of Free Republic. I'm not silly enough to place my own blog on the level of News. It's just a blog.
Posting info about your own blog, or your husband's blog in News is blog flogging. It's not news that someone has a blog.
Apparently you arrived after the thread had been moved.
"I'm sure she didn't intend to violate one of the many unwritten arbitrary rules of etiquite here. And she certainly doesn't deserve to have rude keywords posted to her thread either."
There's nothing unwritten about the rule against posting personal or advertising your own blog on Free Republic. It's right there for anyone to read in the rules of posting.
There is a Bloggers/Personal section of Free Republic. That's where such things should be posted, not in News/Activism.
The Moderator moved it from News/Activism to Bloggers/Personal.
I'm not sure what you mean about rude keywords, though. I posted the keyword "Blogflog" since that's what the post was. I didn't post the other keyword.
I just found the rule. I was wrong. Sorry.
Please enjoy our forum, but also please remember to use common courtesy when posting and refrain from posting personal attacks, profanity, vulgarity, threats, racial or religious bigotry, or any other materials offensive or otherwise inappropriate for a conservative family audience. Free Republic is a noncommerical site. Please do not post advertising, solicitations, spam or any other commercial messages. Do not spam us with links to your own site. No one likes spam.
It's written down. Further, there was nothing impolite about my post. I even said "Please."
Thanks for the thread, and will take a look at the blog.
Not a problem.
Will do.
