You not going to get any flames from me. I say after we identity them, deport them all.

What is the alternative? Kill every Muslim on Earth? Not very realistic. They want all of us dead! Better be locked and loaded, FRiend...
I have a brother working at a major airport. He told me in October 2001 that all of the crap they do is nothing but "eyewash". It's supposed make everyone 'feel" better (safer)! All their measures will NOT STOP a dedicated terrorist from finding a way arond them... it may slow them down, but it won't stop them. There's another horny one around the corner looking for virgins!

You can't be serious......and if you are, just say you aren't.

Our planes aren't in danger because of the existence of explosives or box cutters or even shoulder-fired Stinger missiles. These are just tools. The threat comes from killers inspired by their faith to use these tools to end their lives in a fireball of death and fear.I'd like to tattoo that on some people's foreheads, but it's inaccessible due to being up their rectum.

....(and has been around long enough to to have flown on propeller-driven aircraft; remember when we could smoke anywhere, on airplanes; did not have to so much as show any form of identification; could share and sell our unused tickets at will, to whoever, etc.) have given up, and now, will ONLY fly under the most serious and emergency conditions.Me too.
I have a son that works for an airline. I can fly at an enormous discount.
If I can drive it in a day, I drive.
Since I've retired I might expand that timeframe.

If you can tell the difference between a Pakistani, a Hindu, or a Sikh, by just looking at them, great, but 99.9% of American's can't. I can't. Then hire this 0.1% and give them good pay. (After little training at least 5% will be able to do it).

I'll back you up. We need to declare as a matter of law that Islam is a cult, not a religion.

Other groups that advocate violence such as Earth First are routinely monitored and infiltrated if possible by the feds. Just because muslims base their violent beliefs on religion is no excuse to not identify and observe them as well.
On a different tack: I'm not a New Yorker but understand that up to 50,000 people used to work in the World Trade Center towers. We need to remember that the 911 attackers intended to murder 50,000 and not 2,000 innocents. Had that happened maybe even the traitorous rats would be in favor of defending their country.

I'm angry that, once again, our government's reaction to the very specific problem of Islam-inspired terrorists is the very broad reaction of treating the rest of us like a terrorist threat.Bump to that.

You wouldn't qualify for the job then. However, my brother in law who is in security can tell the difference.

I don't mind getting lambasted for saying the following but, regardless of the ethnicity of the vast majority of airplane hijackers, if I was recruiting them I'd be working overtime to find one that does not look like a "typical" hijacker. That is reason enough to screen everyone, imo.

Couldn't we at least NOT target yuppie middle aged Americans? I'd say women generally aren't involved either. Focus on males 12-50. Fine. But everybody including my Grandmother? We could use more common sense.

Thank goodness for "The Usual Suspects." It's pretty much the only reason I read the City Paper...that and the "Blotter." I guess "The Usual Suspects" is the paper's way of balancing out the liberal bias of every other article in the paper. Oh well, good to hear from Michael.

For what it is worth. I keep waiting for the fall of PC.
Yeah, I'm just not flying. Too much of a hassle.

I have been actively locked and loaded for several years now.
No, nothing will make us 100% safe. Slowing them down is about all we can do so we do it. Anyone who thinks it is ever possible to be 100% safe from harm lives in a fantasy world.

I think (and hope) that PC will be as quaint and as laughable as many of the Victorian and Puritan prohibitions on speech, behavior, etc. are today (of course, many of those still hold in our culture). I know of nobody outside those whose 'jobs' is it to perpetuate PC that agrees with it, adheres to it, or thinks it's anything less than silly.

It's a good thing those homicidal jihadist maniacs weren't able to delay their impact until 10:30 a.m. and then slam the aircraft into, say, the 35th floor. The fact the planes hit before many had even arrived for work and struck fairly high on the structure is what saved many innocent lives.
