I was always impressed with the number of 'mini-games' they had on The Price Is Right. I wonder how many such games there have been, and how many are still in the current rotation?
I'm also curious how well the show 'flows' as it's actually taped. Is everything backstage handled in such a way as to avoid any delays for set changes and such?

I think the 'mini game' format is why The Price is Right has lasted this long.That and the "eye candy" that is on the show.

I loved Gene Rayburn. He was always swooning over the female guests and the panel.

The show is always watchable and usually great. Sometimes a celebrity torpedoes the whole episode, like Gary Burghoff, who isn't very funny at all.
Still, the top row was usually anchored by Brett Sommer and my main man, Charles Nelson Rilley. The bottom row usually had at least Richard Dawson or my other main man, Nipsey Russel. No matter how bad a guy like Burghoff stunk the joint up, the folks I mentioned would always save the day!

Brett Summer as your main man!LOL I thought it was great watching Charles Nelson Reilley becoming more and more gay with every episode. He tried so hard with that pipe but it did not work. It was always a hoot watching Richard Dawson liquored up. But the best part was the sexual hints in the game.

Nah, my main men were Nipsey and Charles Nelson Rilley! I liked Brett Sommer also! And you are correct: Richard Dawson all sauced up is a riot!
By the way, my #2 fave show is oldschool Hollywood Squares.

It was a hoot watching Charles Nelson Reilly becoming more and more a flamer as the series progressed. But, I will give him some points for trying to be straight.
Oldschool Hollywood Squares was the best.
