I've seen it before on Aintitcoolnews.com.
A thread gets posted and people try to be the first to post, simply saying "first".
Sorry, PJ. Both parties here in PA are happy to make ballot access difficult for third parties. For this race, by law, the Dem and GOP candidate needed 2,000 signatures. A third party or independent candidate needs 67,000 signatures to qualify for listing on the ballot.
It's not just Democrats in on this.

They are a bit childish (I usually try to post content, even if it's just a joke), but they do help keep the thread "bumped". It doesn't take much to skip over them, so I don't let them bother me.
Or "Thousand"?
LOL
Ditto at Slashdot.org -- though the moderation and subscription features do a good job of supressing them.
Is this really the official PA Green Party logo?
It looks like they stole the green keystone bitmap from PennDOT and pasted a flower on top of it. Pretty lame.

According to Google Images that is the real PA Green Party logo.
Your point is well taken. I plead guilty at times. But it's Friday. It's also just another way to say to the pinger that you got the ping.
Into the top 40 Like Kasey Kasem on a Hoverround Scooter!
Pretty standard "green" or "progressive" behavior -- 1) dependency on the government; 2) taking what they want even if it doesn't belong to them; and 3) being lame.
I've watched politics for a long time, and I suppose there are some who will agree I know something about history.
Given what has happened in the past--history does not "repeat" itself, but people in all times and places continue making the same mistakes, over and over again--I get the sense that as the Democratic Party marginalizes itself, moving further and further left, the Republican Party similarly shifts left, leaving an open space on its right.
I doubt if it's the libertarians, but something somewhere somehow will emerge to fill that vaccuum on the right.
The Democratic Party probably has one election left in it, after which it will fall into the dustbin of history, as did the Know-Nothings and southern segregationalists.
If the Democrats make inroads during the 2006 mid-term elections--inroads significant enough to damage the last two years of the current administration--the reaction will inevitably follow, and after 2008, the party's just about over.
Ditto for the 2008 presidential elections, if the Democrats fail in 2006, but make inroads two years later.
What constantly amazes me about the left is that they refuse to acknowledge a basic fundamental elementary law of physics--for every action, there is an equally strong reaction. Everything, all, in life has consequences.

I signed a Green petition that a guy offered me outside my office building. I felt that I had to given the angry reactions the guy was getting from some of the people he asked. One guy yelled at the questioner that "you guys caused the war by getting Bush in!!!".
I relished that signature. Every little bit helps, I guess....
At first, the first millisecond or so, I thought it was something from.....Kansas, the sunflower state.
If the Greens become the party of choice, that could become the vehicle of choice!
It's nice to see the infighting:
"This is the Democratic Underground and as policy states we support Democrats - you want some sympathy I'm sure there is a green underground out there somewhere"
"There is absolutely no excuse for the Green Party allowing itself to be used as a front for Republican dirty tricks..."
The translation for this newspeak is: There is absolutely no excuse for the Green Party (or anybody) to oppose us!
Aw, what the heck. One more song to the tune of 'Love is Blue'...
"Blue, blue, my states are blue;
Blue are my states thats all I can say;
Gray, gray, my chances are gray;
To win in a state that wont vote my way.
Red, red, DUs all red
Sleeping all day then log-ins from bed.
Green, green, more votes may be green
Thanks to some cash from Karl Roves machine.
When we met how bright the sun shone
Then he tossed me this big election bone.
Black, black, DUs ire is black
Thinking weve stabbed em all in the back.
Blue, blue, my states are blue;
Blue are my states, and theyre oh so few."
Personally I find it rather amusing, so I don't mind to much. My favorite is "top 1,000?"
