Well, not the direct link to DUmmieland (which is in it), but this should do.

"Well, not the direct link to DUmmieland (which is in it), but this should do." It did! Still nothing substantive but it does indicate Fat Che had been warned, and it wasn't his decision. Warned about what? His soliciting? His antisemitic posts? It will eventually come out, I'm sure.

Warned about what?On the Mike Malloy board, Fat Che insisted it was his comment about Israel not having the right to exist, which also was my speculation.
But it appears other comments of his had been a factor, for a long time.
One wonders if the Bostonian Drunkard has ever gotten "warnings," though, for his utter uselessness to DUmmieland.
I know I might see some disagreement here, but I think it's great that my fellow alum (through his partner EarlG) is showing some spine.....the only problem being, he's got to show a lot more spine than this yet.

You know, Skinner, just like JimRob, has the right to say who we wants to allow to use his site, so I'm not going to be joining the "reinstate Fat Che" petition.
Nevertheless, I am curious as to what could have gotten the Fister banned given what else occurs there on a regular basis.

"...I think it's great that my fellow alum (through his partner EarlG) is showing some spine.....the only problem being, he's got to show a lot more spine than this yet."That would take some real cojones, I suspect. What about others who have a state such as EarlG? Apparently he played some role in Fat Che's demise. Are the other players showing signs of support for change but Skinner still a hold out? Just some speculation on my part. I really don't know the makeup of the 'doers and shakers' there.

You know, Skinner, just like JimRob, has the right to say who we wants to allow to use his site, so I'm not going to be joining the "reinstate Fat Che" petition. The petition of course is facetious, tongue-in-cheek, as a mockery of how the DUmmies think such things actually effect changes in the real world.
I remember one time last year I got a warning from Jim Robinson, and it put the fear of God into me. It blows my mind that Fat Che had gotten not one, but several warnings, from my fellow alum, and obviously ignored them all.
I think it boils down to respect. Fat Che, like so many DUmmies, doesn't really respect my fellow alum, and my fellow alum lets them get away with it. And so naturally I am enthusiastic about this minor show of backbone, but as I've said several times, "Skinner"'s got to do a lot more than that, if he honestly wishes to respectablize his creation.

"Fat Che, like so many DUmmies, doesn't really respect my fellow alum, and my fellow alum lets them get away with it." In reading about narcissism through kevkrom's earlier link, this isn't surprising. I don't think anyone would argue the narcissistic behavior shown at DU. And narcissists don't respect criticism. Nor do they honor authority over them. This goes to the core of the community that's developed, and to the core of the problem in regenerating it.

Not so chilly for me today. Okay, something else weird yesterday. I spent about seven hours outside without once needing to tinkle. That is RARE for me. Maybe I sweated it all out.

This nutjob says that religion "breeds passivity", but the original poster syas that religion "seems to be at the epicenter of most of the worlds strife". Which one is it?
What? You expected logic? Sanity?
These posts are strictly for entertainment purposes only - although I can honestly say they also scare the crap out of me.

Let us cut through the fine print here folks..
How many of you DO NOT believe that if the far left were elected in this country, and THEY THOUGHT they could get away with it, that they would promote just such laws??
I think they would..
To: PJ-Comix
1. no minor should be allowed to possess a religious text, participate in a religious ritual or enter a church This is or was the law in every single Communist country. But hey, remember, the DUmmies are the ones standing up for freedom and the little guy, white rose society and all that, yada, yada, yada.

I'm also a practicing High Church Anglican, although it would be more proper to call me a Neo-Platonist, (for example, I do not literally believe in the actual divinity of Christ, but I do believe in the metaphorical divinity of the philosophy of Christ: the difference between the two positions, to me, is reasonably immaterial. Neither do I believe that "god" exists in the way that say your dining room table exists or is conscious even in the way that your pet is conscious). You think God has less consciousness than my housecat, and you don't think Jesus was God, but you consider yourself a practicing Anglican? Well, keep practicing, because you're really atrocious at it.
Maybe he could become a "practicing member" of the NRA and advocate total gun control. That wouldn't be any dumber.

not outlawed, just ridiculed outlawing it would only make it stronger. More and more public ridicule of religion is more effective. But remember, it's President Bush who is the divisive one, not the wonderful kum-bai-yah libs.

Any other time or place, past or present, this DUmmie would be either socially or governmentally compelled to conform. IIRC, in East Germany, if you didn't have a church confirmation you were required to go through a Communist-based coming of age ceremony.

I was pretty happy when the power came back on last night, saving me from trying to sleep with no AC in midwestern August temps.I did a newspaper history article recently on the heat wave of '31. It killed 1,013 people. That's life in the Midwest without AC. [SHUDDER!]
