Ok, if mindlessly scream incoherent hate and hysteric bile at your own side you these days you get to call yourself "an independent voice". If you actually stand by your principals and fight for what you believe in, you are a "Republican Shill"
Nice little Marxist style attack propaganda pretending to be "thought". The only difference between this verbal diarrhea and what spews forth from the Lunatic Leftist is what these butt boys what from the Government. Just another group of in the closet Democrats to chicken crap to come out and actually STAND for what they really thing.

When Libertarians start getting elected they might be in a better position to do something. If Libertarians focused on what is a core populist philosophy they could begin to change the country for the better but instead they choose extreme positions on drugs and personal liberty bordering on old anarchist philosophy. If they focused on property rights, vouchers, small government, and a simple tax code they'd find themselves with a sizable following. As it stands now Libertarians are irrelvant to the current political discourse and it is good to see that Mr. Elder has realized this.

It probably was in Mr. Elder's best financial interests to switch to the extremely powerful and wealthy Republican party as well. His colleagues too, I'm sure, were pressuring him to become "one of us" and get some "real work" done. Which is a statement of utter political bigotry and ignorance. The author cannot actually voice any REASONS why he opposed Republicans other then he hates their wealth and influence. So in other words, he is merely another rebel without a clue, mindlessly rebelling NOT because he has better ideas but simply because he cannot overcome his knee jerk hate for Republicans. Nother doomed to never be relevant political fringe. Who cares what such intellectually monochromatic temper tantrum throwers think?

Larry isn't on the radio in Chicago anymore. I always liked Larry's "ask Momma" segments. Very interesting and entertaining.

I wonder if the author stopped to think that perhaps, just perhaps, the fact is the Dems have become more and more distant from Elder's ideals and the Repubs have become closer?
Intellectual honesty being one thing Dems/Libs are more and more distant from.....

The libertarians are so diverse in their beliefs
that it is the only party that find criticisms with anyone
and everyone including their own,.
There is nothing wrong with Libertarianism in small
rural , sparsely populated confines, but it is not workable
for modern metropolitan societies.
