Larry Elder: Adrift- Why the once great talk show host has become a Republican shill
The Prometheus Institute ^ | 6/13/2006 | Justin Hartfield & M Harrison

Posted on 07/08/2006 10:42:01 AM PDT by tang0r

The sad truth is, and this is indeed depressing, is that Larry Elder has turned more into a party shill than the independent voice of a man who understood this world very clearly and knew what was universally correct and what was universally stupid.

Ok, if mindlessly scream incoherent hate and hysteric bile at your own side you these days you get to call yourself "an independent voice". If you actually stand by your principals and fight for what you believe in, you are a "Republican Shill"

Nice little Marxist style attack propaganda pretending to be "thought". The only difference between this verbal diarrhea and what spews forth from the Lunatic Leftist is what these butt boys what from the Government. Just another group of in the closet Democrats to chicken crap to come out and actually STAND for what they really thing.

Interestingly, the PI website claims their staff will debate anybody, anywhere, anytime, on any subject and destroy them.

This rather odd claim implies that they have no belief system of their own.

When Libertarians start getting elected they might be in a better position to do something. If Libertarians focused on what is a core populist philosophy they could begin to change the country for the better but instead they choose extreme positions on drugs and personal liberty bordering on old anarchist philosophy. If they focused on property rights, vouchers, small government, and a simple tax code they'd find themselves with a sizable following. As it stands now Libertarians are irrelvant to the current political discourse and it is good to see that Mr. Elder has realized this.

LOL, your post was a mess! Anyway, I surely agree with what (I think) you said. Note that the original poster is a newbie troll. A rat scumbag. As we get closer and closer to November these operatives will come out of the woodwork like a roach nest.

LH

It probably was in Mr. Elder's best financial interests to switch to the extremely powerful and wealthy Republican party as well. His colleagues too, I'm sure, were pressuring him to become "one of us" and get some "real work" done.

Which is a statement of utter political bigotry and ignorance. The author cannot actually voice any REASONS why he opposed Republicans other then he hates their wealth and influence. So in other words, he is merely another rebel without a clue, mindlessly rebelling NOT because he has better ideas but simply because he cannot overcome his knee jerk hate for Republicans. Nother doomed to never be relevant political fringe. Who cares what such intellectually monochromatic temper tantrum throwers think?

Since his joining in June, his purpose seems to be to transfer all the Prometheus articles onto freerepublic.

Right. Take your choice - "Democrat spokesman" or "Republican shill." But there's no MSM bias, as everybody knows.

The ability to "debate" without regard to the principle that is to be upheld, is more in the order of settling arguments by dueling, in which the challenge is not to prove the rightness or wrongness of the issue, but who is more able to handle the weapon of choice.

These exceptional mental gymnasts are so agile, they may succeed in perching on a razor-wire fence almost indefinitely. But at some time, the debate must end, and action undertaken. Unprepared for action rather than words, they are defenseless.
