"Anti-war" activists are not famous for impeccable logic, brainy equations, or just plain common sense. Thus they can often be found engaging in all sorts of activities that an ordinary person might find weird, repulsive or unstable. (Hence their nickname: moonbat.) One shining example of bizarre peacenik behavior is when moonbats pretend to hold "vigils" for troops. What they are actually doing, of course, is protesting our military to damage moral and minimize troop recruitment in wartime.
The deception is transparent to most politically aware folks when they stop to think about it, except for some very few who refuse to believe their own eyes and ears. Even in today's public education system, most American children are aware that our military personnel do not dictate government policies of the United States of America. Military goals and policy are decided in the civilian government by elected officials. The final decisions are communicated to the Pentagon who then try to implement them as best they can. For the average citizen to request a change in military goals or policy the civilian government must be appealed to, through contacting Congress and/or the Presidential Administration.
And moonbats certainly do that. Letter writing campaigns are often found on liberal websites. Protests occur at inaugurations and Federal buildings, showing that the "anti-war" activists do understand the valid method of publicly protesting military policy. Yet they still go to military installations! Often they use the same signs at both "vigil" and "protest." At military bases, hospitals and recruiting centers they seem to forget they were supposed to be "supporting the troops to bring them home" and display flag draped coffins, death count banners and signs falsely accusing troops of atrocities and torture. Frankly, no thinking person can call that "support."
For several years now, Tucson liberals have been protesting the US Military in front of the Military Recruiting Center at 2302 E. Speedway. Until one year ago, they had the public sidewalk all to themselves. Gleeful military death counts, flag draped coffins, UN flags, American flags with peace signs defacing them, troop accusations and left-wing propaganda placards were exhibited to a hapless public with no opposition. Then came Pat, a determined military mom holding troop-supporting signs with American and military flags.
At first they tried yelling and cursing to get rid of her but that didn't work. Instead, more veterans, patriotic citizens and military parents joined Pat. The "Pro-American" supporters of American foreign policy and troops would hold signs and American flags, behave like normal people and relate facts about the war, which proved to be effective against liberal anti-military protests. Eventually moonbat numbers were reduced from about forty to approximately twenty a week. They tried larger signs and even a huge banner, which was a great idea except for one thing - the message. More Pro-Americans came and more moonbats left. Fifteen to twenty-five patriots now show up every week.
On March 18th, 2006 left-wing activists hoped for a triumph. With rampant promotion and people bused in from all over the state and Mexico, they secured two hundred moonbats for a rally and march to the Military Recruitment Center, where they hoped to occupy and vandalize the strip mall by wiring "anti-war" banners over the military signs and taking photos for their websites. Shocked to discover one hundred Pro-Americans protecting the property in a gigantic human shield, the dejected activists postured and posed for only a short time across the street, then left to catch their buses home after much cursing and name calling. Another crushing defeat.
The next move by anti-Americans was to try and come on different days. But through a secret method, the Pro-Americans figured out how to be there almost the instant moonbats appeared. Stunned by the quick response, they soon gave up that plan. Then they tried to come earlier and flood the main sidewalk with people. However, the liberal lollygaggers can't get there in force very early. Besides, that would only work once. The next time Pro-Americans would just be there earlier. They've already shown they can get there sooner and outstay any protest. Meanwhile, "anti-war" protester numbers are down to about ten or less a week now. At a recent monthly Davis-Monthan Air Force base protest, no liberals even showed up! Pro-Americans were there to support the troops, however.
Unable to dissuade "General" Pat and her coalition of Pro-Americans to leave by cursing, yelling, larger signs, different days or getting there earlier, the peace lovers have now turned to the one group they despise most - the authorities. No, it's not the police. Liberal activist websites are full of hate and false accusations against law enforcement. They think this makes police biased against them, probably because moonbats would be that way if they were in the same position. However, police just want to be fair to both sides and simply enforce the law. But liberals consider this attitude to be bias against them as well.
Sources tell me that certain elements in the Tucson City government are extremely angry at Pro-Americans for their support of the military and will do anything possible to get them off the sidewalk with their American flags and pro-troop signs. The liberals have complained to the City Council that they have been coming to this location and protesting for a longer time so they should "own" the sidewalk. The Pro-Americans should get off the public walkway and shut up. At least some members of the City Council agree but are stymied, unable to devise some kind of law or ordinance that would outlaw one side and not the other but wouldn't be laughed out of court! They are still working on that one.
The City Council even tried the old school method of repelling patriots, sending an official representative on Wednesday mornings to curse and yell at Pro-Americans. The taxpayer supplied "observer" has so far focused on teenagers especially. Another new attempt to dissuade American flag wavers is to "agitate and videotape" hoping to catch Pro-Americans reacting in a bad way. However, liberals have been unable to get the patriotic troop supporters to do anything wrong. Sources again tell me that every tape submitted by left wing activists have not shown anyone breaking a law.
Will moonbats continue to curse and yell at Pro-Americans? What will future videotapes expose? Are "anti-war" protesters now going to apologize since it has been revealed that over five hundred Weapons of Mass Destruction have been found in Iraq? Which City Council member secretly hopes Pro-Americans will prevail? How can a law ban free speech for only one side of a political debate? I love a mystery, especially moonbat mysteries! Find out what happens next by checking this column now and again as Tucson troop supporters fight City Hall to stand up for our fighting men and women - and America!

This is interesting. It's interesting to see how they react when their kook ideas are challenged.
