Bill Whittle is BACK!
Eject! Eject! Eject! ^ | June 18, 2006 | Bill Whittle

Posted on 06/29/2006 2:59:01 PM PDT by Politicalities

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I searched and didn't find.

If you've never read Bill Whittle's blog Eject! Eject! Eject! you are missing out. In fact, "you are missing out" severely understates the case. I am not exaggerating when I say he is one of the best writers I've ever read. He would surely dispute this, and perhaps even be offended by the comparison, but he is Mark Twain for our era. We are blessed by him; a writing talent such as his comes along once in a generation... if a generation is lucky.

If you've never read Bill Whittle, READ BILL WHITTLE! Right now! I'm serious, don't even read the next sentence of this post but go right to his website now now now!!! Why are you still reading this? Didn't you hear me? Git! Start off by reading TRIBES, then maybe SANCTUARY Part 1 and Part 2. After that, you don't need me to tell you what to read, you'll want to read it all. And buy his book; all the material is available without cost on the site but you'll feel guilty getting so much for free.

Sorry for all the superlatives, but they're earned. If I were punished by being allowed to read only one author for the rest of my life, I know who I'd pick. I can't imagine someone reading (and understanding) Bill Whittle and remaining a liberal.

Now, for the rest of you, for those of you who do know and love Bill Whittle, for those of you who've been waiting nearly an agonizing year since TRIBES... he's back! And he's writing a book. His essays were pure gold, but this time he's stringing together chapters into a coherent whole. He's posted the introduction, and it's as sterling as everything else. Chapter 1 is promised in a few days. I can't wait.

Again, sorry for the fanboyish gushing... but I truly believe it's merited.

Thanks bitt, I enjoyed the Tribes article. Interesting when you get down to the analogy of these men;

John Kennedy
Abraham Lincoln
Ronald Reagan
Franklin Roosevelt

Tribes;

Thank you. I have read, and loved, TRIBES. I am overjoyed that there is now more from his pen (or keyboard)

Anybody not familiar with Bill Whittle is in for a real treat!. I found his site a year ago thanks to a fellow Freeper and I highly recommend it. Shortly after "Silent America" came out I suggested that our local library purchase a copy, which they eventually did, and found that there were only three other libraries in America that had copies on the shelves. His essays deserve a much wider audience.
