The rapidly EXPLODING Blogola scandal which has engulfed the Daily Kos as chronicled in yesterday's EDITION of the DUmmie FUnnies is the hot talk of the Blogosphere. Of course, this big scandal is nowhere to be seen in the MSM. However, the shocking Blogola revelations appearing in such blogs as DONKEY CONS and the RIEHL WORLD VIEW have caused the Head KOmmie, Markos Moulitsas, to react by going into the denial mode as you can see in this THREAD titled, "Consulting." So let us now watch the Head KOmmie try to talk his way out of the Blogola scandal in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, who wishes to apologize to the KOmmies for thinking they sold out for mere sushi and booze when it is really the BIG BUCKS they are selling out for, is in the [brackets]:
Consulting
[Consulting---the modern way of receiving those green bills in the brown bags.]
by kos
[Partner of Jerome Armstrong of stock shilling fame.]
With the election season heating up, as well as 2008 starting to loom larger, and every conspiracymonger looking for hidden biases, let me take yet another opportunity to make very clear that I am not a consultant.
[I am NOT a crook...but my partner is.]
I don't consult now. I haven't consulted since 2004. I don't plan on consulting in the future. I don't want to consult. Why would I consult when I have the sweetest gig in the world? I mean, I get paid to blog and write! Why would I mess with that formula?
[Because the $$$$ is much bigger if you leave the dirty work of "consulting" to your partner Jerome Armstrong. Let's see, Armstrong receives big payments from Congressman Sherrod Brown in Ohio. Then just a couple of days after slamming Brown in the Daily Kos, you have a "miraculous" change of heart and support him in his senate bid.]
My only sources of revenue are this site (advertising and subscriptions), some freelance writings in places like the American Prospect, and CTG (eventually. It takes publishers ages to send out royalty checks). At some point in the future, SportsBlogs will be a source of revenue, but it's nowhere near that point yet. No politician, campaign, issue group, nor any other organization has directly or indirectly paid me for anything.
[I would love to check out the money flow rate in the Armstrong-Kos pipeline.]
Did I mention I'm not a consultant, and will not be a consultant in the future? Because if I didn't, let me make clear -- I'm not a consultant. And I won't be.
[I am not a crook and never will be a crook. Let me make it very clear -- I am not a crook although my partner, Unknown Jerome, might be.]
Clear?
[All too clear that you avoided answering the DETAILS of the Blogola scandal. And now on to the cult-like responses of you fellow KOmmies...]
Can I hire you as a consultant?
[Is that you, Mark Warner?]
How much do you pay?
[Replied Kos. This morning I found out that the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) pays almost $162,000.]
But Kos is pure. Won't sell out. But will definitely be accused of selling out. And probably worse. He's a big target now.
[Kos is pure as the driven slush.]
Survey USA says LIEBERMAN TANKS
[That's because Lieberman didn't pay the Unknown Jerome Political Technologies LLC "consulting fee."]
It's silly, but the reality is that if he consulted, there would inevitably be jackasses who would question his impartiality, regardless of whether he disclosed, and regardless of whether the consulting had anything to do with what he was saying on DK.
[Gee. Where would we ever get the strange idea that the much vaunted Kos impartiality is in question?]
just heading off people who insist I'm compromised because I'm in someone's employ.
[Or if Unknown Jerome is in someone's employ, kos.]
soooo who are you not consulting for then? Don't you think full disclosure is appropriate?
[Kos is NOT consulting for Sherrod Brown, Mark Warner, nor the SEIU...but Unknown Jerome is.]
Probaby you have seen it before, but it's a first for me. It is classic swift-boating, isn't it?
[Nowadays, when you investigate the misdeeds of Democrats it is called "swift-boating."]
Markos may be cranky and crazy occasionally but The Ragin' Cajun is too and he's rich and he's even sleeping with the enemy. If it is about the money or whom he consults I trust his judgement, and it shouldn't matter if I didn't. If it makes any difference he could call it 'helping' and his fees could be donations.
[Just change the word definitions and all is okay. "Scamming" will now be redefined to mean "helping" and Markos is certainly getting some big "helpings" via his partner, Unknown Jerome.]
then what do you say about the report from Jason Leopold that you were seen on the 5th floor of Patton Boggs, meeting with Mark Warner for 18 hours or half a day? Are you sure you're not both a consultant, but then again not a consultant......?
[As usual, Jason Leopold was wrong. It was Unknown Jerome who was seen on the 5th floor of Patton Boggs meeting with Mark Warner for 18 hours.]
Kos, You've become a lightening rod because you've taken bold, principled stands, using a relatively new medium, and that threatens some folks. You owe no one an explanation and the very visibility that you now have- the fact that people are talking about you, regardless of the context- equals success. And, as you gain success, we all do..it's good for the whole movement. Just keep on doing what you've been doing and don't let it burn you out. As for the critics: F*ck 'em.
[An impassioned plea for KOmmie KOs to continue stonewalling.]
I don't want to be the first to raise it, but there are serious allegations listed there against Jerome.
[REALLY???]
Have a good time Charles! You'll be missed!
Cindie
But after Aug. 21. until Labor Day is the slowest time of the year.
Isn't he sweet? Maybe Freepers should take up a collection to buy this guy some Y-chromosomes.
Dang. that stinks.
Have a safe, happy, and rewarding time.
Stay safe and have a great time.
Take care -- Marteen and I will just have to split the bon bons between us...
LOL! For Pitt, debating with a bunch of fanboys about whether Wolverine's claws could scratch Captain America's shield would be "better" than broaching the subject of Hoaxmas.
Well, in the Ultimate universe, maybe. After all, Wolvie's claws and the shield are both made out of adamantium there. But in Univserse 616? Nah. There's it's been shown that only Thor and Thanos have been able to destroy the shield, and Wolvie's not in their weight class. (Nor does his name start with "th", which is another important requirement.)
My brain remembers this stuff, yet I can't remember my own phone number...
They hate us...no they really REALLY hate us.
Is it something we said?
Smirk.

Sheesh! First he gives up FR for Lent, and now this!
Yesterday, on one of the threads that was discussing our murdered soldiers, one of the DUmmies had addressed a post to "Lurking Freepers". The post essentially blamed us for what happened to these soldiers, said we had blood on our hands, and said we would roast in Hell. Hey, wait a minute -- I thought DUmmies didn't believe in Hell!
Yeah, they hate us. They really do.
Ha! I like the last one so far:
"I think that everyone
in every town, city or berg should get their phone book out and make at least one hour of calls each evening......starting with the "A's"
Hi, I'm so and so and I'm calling to find out if you voted in the last Presidential election". If they did ask them...."do you mind telling me who you voted for?"
If they voted for Bush.......yell into the phone.....you Fucking Idiot Traitor! The country is going down the tubes and it's all your fault for being stupid. You should never be allowed within 200 yards of a ballot booth again in life."
Then hang up
Sometimes I have these little fantasies"
You'll be missed. Prayers up for safe travel.
Who would have thought that simply asking customers to use the language spoken and understood by the vendor when ordering food would be such an intolerable politically INcorrect faux pas that it would make headlines all over the U.S.?
"Still no explosion in the MSM..." Nor in other lib blogs. Gee, I wonder why?
Check out kausfiles.com. "KOS-olafest" by Mickey Kaus. Corruption Doesn't Require Illegality"
"I say you don't have to have illegality to have corruption and this situation (the Kos/Armstrong pay to play) reeks of corruption." Mickey Kaus
Over at captainsquartersblog.com the Captain has Big News that could go under the title, "Who Are the Gate- Keepers Now?"
Markos sent requests to a list of "elite liberal bloggers" asking that they, in effect, stand down on the story of him and Armstrong and the flow of political cash to Kos.
Captain Ed provides a link to Jason Zingerle's article in The Plank, "The Bogosphere's Smoke-Filled Backroom."
Zingerele reprints Kos's letter asking his fellow lib bloggers to keep silent about his (Kos's)and Armstrong's "sitation."
Here's the last paragraph, "My request to you guys is that you ignore this for now. It would make my life easier if we can confine the story. Then, once Jerome [Armstrong] can speak and defend himself, then I'll go on the offensive (which is when I would file any lawsuits) and anyone can pile on. If any of us blog on this right now, we fuel the story. Let's starve it of oxygen. And withouth the "he said, she said" element to the story, you know, political journalists are paralyzed into inaction. Thanks, Markos."
Zingerele adds, "So far, Kos's friends in the fiercely independent blogosphere seem to have displayed a sheep-like obedience to his dictat."
Kos's letter is a gem. His "I'm exploring the possibility of lawsuits," is hilarious since the two conservative bloggers he attacks for bringing up "pay for play" on Kos, are Glen Reynolds at Instapundit.com, and John Hindraker at Powerlineblog.com, both highly regarded lawyers.

I was truly surprised Drudge or Rush didn't pick up on this. The entire story could easily be their undoing.
/PJ - Captain's Quarters has email of Markos asking other lefty blogs to play hush hush over all this. Follows:
http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/
"The YearlyKos media people have already forced corrections at Slate and NY Times (Suellentrop's blog). There has been some serious overreach by the few outlets that picked up this story (which as I mentioned before has been shopped around). It was interesting how this one piddly-ass story was used to try and smear Jerome, me, AND YearlyKos.
So the only paper to run this as a news story is the disgraceful NY Post. Others who picked up on it have had to backtrack from their original sensationalistic claims.
I am exploring legal options against some of the wingnut bloggers who are claiming I'm syphoning netroots money into consultants and my own pockets. Note how Glenn Reynolds is fueling it with his typical passive aggressive, "I don't think it's a big deal, but let me provide links to everyone who thinks this is THE BIGGEST STORY EVER!"
And Jerome's case, if it could be aired out, is a non-story (he was a poor grad student at the time so he settled because he had no money). Jerome can't talk about it now since the case is not fully closed. But once it is, he'll go on the offensive. That should be a couple of months off.
This story will percolate in wingnut circles until then, but I haven't gotten a single serious media call about it yet. Not one. So far, this story isn't making the jump to the traditional media, and we shouldn't do anything to help make that happen.
My request to you guys is that you ignore this for now. It would make my life easier if we can confine the story. Then, once Jerome can speak and defend himself, then I'll go on the offensive (which is when I would file any lawsuits) and anyone can pile on. If any of us blog on this right now, we fuel the story. Let's starve it of oxygen. And without the "he said, she said" element to the story, you know political journalists are paralyzed into inaction.
Thanks, markos"
Man! This whole KOSsack KOmics things is working out great so quickly. Who'd a thunk?!
Wow! I'm feelin' the love!
