DUmmie FUnnies 06-15-06 (Truthout is "Standing Down on the Rove Matter")
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | June 15, 2006 | Marc Ash, DUmmies, and PJ-Comix

Posted on 06/15/2006 2:09:49 AM PDT by PJ-Comix

The Leftists LOVE using military terminology when it serves their purposes. And in this case, the term "Standing Down" is being used in order to have to avoid the nasty word, "Retract." Yes, "retract" is so ugly. It means you have to TAKE BACK a phony story and admit that Hoaxmas has no basis in fact. Therefore, TruthOut weaseled out by saying they are "Standing Down" on Hoaxmas so they don't have to admit FINAL error. Even the DUmmies aren't buying the Truthout is "Standing Down on the Rove Matter" routine. So let us now watch the DUmmies sit down on the Truthout "Standing Down" excuse in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, Sitting Down on the Rove Matter, is in the [brackets]:

Truthout is "Standing Down on the Rove Matter"

[Please don't make us say "retract." Anything but that!]

http://forum.truthout.org/blog

By Marc Ash,

[Formerly Marc Fash as in fASHion photographer.]

Wed Jun 14th, 2006 at 06:52:40 PM EDT :: Fitzgerald Investigation
Yesterday, most Mainstream Media organizations published reports about a letter supposedly received by Karl Rove's attorney Robert Luskin. As an example of the supposed letter's contents, TIME Magazine stated that, "Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald said or wrote, 'Absent any unexpected developments, he does not anticipate seeking any criminal charges against Rove.'"

["Supposed?" Yeah, like Luskin is going to lie about that and piss off Fitzgerald bigtime. Riiiiiight!]

Truthout of course published an article on May 13 which reported that Karl Rove had in fact already been indicted. Obviously there is a major contradiction between our version of the story and what was reported yesterday. As such, we are going to stand down on the Rove matter at this time. We defer instead to the nation's leading publications.

[No, no! Don't defer to the nation's leading publications! I would rather place my faith in a former fashion photographer, a liar and drug addict, and a drunken blowhard.]

In that Mr. Luskin has chosen the commercial press as his oracle - and they have accepted - we call upon those publications to make known the contents of the communiqué which Luskin holds at the center of his assertions. Quoting only those snippets that Mr. Luskin chooses to characterize in his statements is not enough. If Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald has chosen to exonerate Mr. Rove, let his words - in their entirety - be made public.

[WOW! You really love throwing those grownup words around. "Communiqué." Anyway, Patrick Fitzgerald has ALREADY spoken by his silence. Luskin issued his statement and Fitzgerald didn't contradict it. End of story. But you can't face that fact so you are merely "standing down" rather than retracting.]

Reporter Jason Leopold

[And his source, Sonny Crockett...]

Mr. Leopold did not act alone in his reporting of this matter. His work, sources and conclusions were reviewed carefully at each step of the process. There is no indication that Mr. Leopold acted unethically.

[Mr. Leopold did not act alone. He had WILLIAM RIVERS PITT verify all his sources in triplicate. There is no indication that Mr. Leopold acted sanely.]

Please keep in mind that over the years we have reported on many examples of individuals being scapegoated in crisis situations by superiors seeking cover from controversy. Truthout, however, does not do scapegoats. And we stand firmly behind Jason Leopold.

[Truthout does not do scapegoats because we are a bunch of goats.]

The Confidentiality of Our Sources

[Those sacred sources verified in triplicate by WILLIAM RIVERS PITT.]

As journalists, nothing is more critical to being able to report guarded facts than the guarantee of confidentiality we provide to our sources. Truthout has never compromised the identy of a confidential source. We will protect our sources on this story, as we have on every other story we have ever published.

[You have never compromised the identity of a confidential source? What about a few weeks ago when a drunken WILLIAM RIVERS PITT outed Joe Wilson online as a source?]

Expect a more comprehensive accounting of this matter on Monday, June 19.

[Expect more lame excuses on Monday, June 19.]

Marc Ash
Executive Director - Truthout

[And now for the angry DUmmie reaction...]

What, exactly is "standing down"? Backing down or standing up?

[Weaseling out.]

It's a military term: disengaging. Not retreating, but taking a breather.

[In Pitt's case, the proper term would be "Falling Down" as in Falling Down Drunk.]

Vickers, the guy is not a soldier - he is some blogger that got caught up in his own bullshit. I don't know him, maybe he thought he was right and all that - but for god's sake - don't use military terms with me, it is a real sore point right now.

[Somehow a former fashion photographer using military terminology is just so wrong.]

It's just more bullshit disingenous obfuscation. Ash is an Ass.

[Marc Ass.]

I firmly believe this is another serving of bullshit they're dishing out.

[They prefer that to serving themselves Crow.]

Yep. It's just more bullshit. "We don't really know what the hell is going on but we are kinda stand by our story and we won't reveal the 'sources' even though Leopold said he would if they burned him which they did, assuming they ever existed." Period. This is just more bullshit.

[Even though their sources served them up BS, Joe Wilson's sacred confidentiality must be protected.]

relegating Jason's unsubstantiated story? How about David Shuster's?

[Be my guest. Go ahead and relegate David Shuster's Fitzmas fantasies to the junk heap as well.]

I will say this, "TruthOUT" will not suffer my loyalty to their allegiance to truth.

[Enjoying the Kool-Aide?]

Rove will do something so egregious and illegal in the coming months there won't even need to be a trial, it will be straight to the clinker for him...

[Check under your pillow in the morning for the Tooth Fairy coins.]

Can you imagine a newspaper or a cable outlet having to do this? People would be ruined.

[More likely promoted.]

I've gotten to the point that I agree with that - it was pure fabrication.

[The See-BS Texas Air National Guard story?]

They're getting swiftboated and it's a shame to see us eat our own. Rove is laughing his ass off at us.

["Swiftboated." The new DUmmie all-purpose word for when the Left gets caught in its own lies.]

"Standing down" my ass. Can you spell "retraction", Mr. Ash? WTF is the matter with you, you phony wimp?

[Please don't make the former fASHion photographer spell "retraction."]

Hopefully in their June 19th installment, Truthout will admit they made a colossal error, apologize to their readers, fire Leopold, hire a journalist with a track record of integrity to replace him, resolove to learn from their mistakes, and move on.

[Mary Mapes is looking for work.]

The time for "coming clean" was before Ash and Pitt went on the record as having spoken to the sources. So they made themselves part of the story, they can't come clean about Leopold without coming clean about themselves.

[Right now WILLIAM RIVERS PITT is Standing Down on the Bukowski's barroom floor so he might have a bit of trouble cleaning himself up.]

"Ash is an Ass."

I almost want to make that my tagline.

Well, what's highly suspect about it is that the DUmmie quoted a religious hymn, and as we all know, DUmmies hate religion.

Remember, because of this fiasco started by the Bostonian Idiot, there's been more public interest in DUmmieland, and so my fellow alum the Head Capitalist "Skinner" has been roping in a lot of new members.

Perhaps some of them are moles or trolls; perhaps some of them are legitimate Democrats (as distinct from DUmmies).....but alas in the latter case, many will find their stay there short and unsweet.

"I will say this, "TruthOUT" will not suffer my loyalty to their allegiance to truth."

I've read this about 25 times and I think I know what he is saying, but of course, there is no telling what is really going on in a DUmmie's mind. I think he is saying this

TruthOUT" will not suffer my loyalty

I won't be a loyal reader of truthout anymore

to their allegiance to truth

because they are refusing to retract the bogus story and they are still sticking up for those assholes, Jason Leopold and William Pitt.

BTW can you figure out what this sentence means? I can't make heads or tails of it:

I will say this, "TruthOUT" will not suffer my loyalty to their allegiance to truth.

I think what it means is that regular DU forum posters have been getting writing lessons from Pitt. This is not, as I recall from my reading of Revelations, one of the signs of the apocolypse, however.

Maybe it was a poorly punctuated message to Pitt from one of his DUmmie groupies. "Will [Pitt], suffer my loyalty!"

Obviously, there is a contradiction between reality and truthout's reporting. I like how the truth is "supposed" while truthout's fantasy is still true in this guy's mind.

Been wondering if Marc Ash is the infamous progenitor of the "ASH ALERT" from long ago myself.
Wouldn't surprise me if he was.
Rumor has it that Will Pitt used to troll here as well.

This is all just too good. I haven't seen that much egg on so many faces in one place at one time in my entire life, this fiasco is for the record book.

The funniest part, and the most telling as far as the character (or lack of same) of the main players is concerned, is that they are utterly incapable of admitting that the entire Leopold/Pitt "scoop" was bogus and nothing more than wishful thinking from day one. When the typical DUmmie's character actually looks good by comparison, and I have to admit that a few DUmmie comments do at least show some willingness to face reality in re their fellow moonbats' inept attempt at deceiving them, you know you're scraping the cruddy sediment off the very bottom of the barrel.

.....was bogus and nothing more than wishful thinking from day one.....

I think this is what the DUmmie "symbolman" means, when he talks about reliance upon "faith-based media."

And of course the DUmmie "symbolman" is exactly right, although it pains one to admit it, given the attachment he has to Fat Che.

Also, it needs pointed out that "wishful thinking" if done too much is yet another symptom of being alcoholically-challenged.
