Full List of Palestinian Political Parties
The Palestinians have said that they were sick of the ongoing corruption and disorganization of the Fatah party. But does that justify electing a terrorist group into power? Despite common belief it was not just a vote between Fatah and Hamas. As noted above the Palestinians had EIGHT OTHER PARTIES they could have voted for besides Hamas. So why did they choose Hamas? Why did they choose the only Islamist Palestinian political party? The Palestinian society is the only in the Arab world which doesn't enforce any form of the backwards sharia law. Why did the Palestinians elect the only politcal group that wants to bring that into the society? All the other political parties at least publicly recognize Israel's right to exsist. Hamas doesn't. If the Palestinian government can't even recognize Israel's right to exist, how do they ever plan on achieving peace with Israel? Do the Palestinians really want peace? Are they really as "desperate" as some make them out to be? I have always told my readers to have sympathy for the Palestinian civilians. Have I been wrong to do so? On the other hand Israel elected the moderate, Olmert, who, unlike other Israeli leaders, is very keen on making peace and ending the conflict with the Palestinians. There is a clear reason why world opinion has recently shifted to Israel's side. A wise man once said, "The sun wont stay behind the clouds forever", sooner or later people will see the truth, and that appears to be whats happening right now.
