Watching the local news in eastern Canada I viewed a feminist, possibly a consellor on campus, attempting to place a peace bond(restraining order) on another Professor who has his own blog !
Wanted to show Freeper support to a stand up guy with a sense of humor:

As I understand it, the attempted peace bond is a result of a picture of Prof. Mullen holding a firearm.

The case about which have been interviewed 4 times on 2 days is actually a peace bond. I had up on the Bear Blog a
'departmental death watch' as a means of bringing attention to certain intellectual deficiencies. This has been transmogrified into a death threat. Go figure. I guess I have proved my point. The gun picture was an obvious parody put up to bug liberals. I have a new picture there, a parody of a parody. Intending faculty must in the future be given irony tests--what does this mean? The ATV interview was just awful; I have put up the record of lessons learned. CBC and Global were not bad, no complaints. Thanks very much for your interest.

Greetings and Welcome Sleepy Old Bear! (you do realize that can be shortened to "S.O.B." don't you? ;) LOL
I have friends in Halifax and Truro and have been to Cape Breton (Meat Cove to be exact) once many years ago, I had a great deal of fun telling people about the new Meat Cove Mall, with the 24 hour Sobeys, Shoppers Drug Mart, and of course the drive-over-the-cliff Tim Horton's. Half of those people actually believed me.
Enough about yours truly. If your humble blog has riled up the lieberals and the other left-of-centre life forms up there, I would say that you're doing a fine job, i.e.,
"GET R DONE!"
And good advice on handling media interviews by the way, that is a keeper I will be adding to my permanent files!
Enjoy the weekend my FRiend!
Regards,
MKJ

From your site:
5. answer in two-word sentences hard to edit
I've got to admit that never occurred to me. Many years ago, I was involved in a seemingly almost infinite series of nasty ( and pointless ) lawsuits- all of which were either dismissed or settled, and at the end, my attorney told me, "You know, I don't think I've had a client give as vague, useless testimony as you have."
I *think* it was meant as a compliment...

FYI: I e-mailed material on this story to FReeper 'sionnsar' a day ago as I though he'd be interested in it's Anglican aspects.
It's now big news in Canadian 'Christian Right' circles & I sent him a number of related e-mails I'd received along with this article which apparently touched them off:

Canadian Prof Faces Human Rights Complaint Over Religious Views on Homosexuality
By Terry Vanderheyden
SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, May 31, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A Cape Breton University (CBU) professor is the target of a human rights complaint by a homosexual student. Comments posted by the professor at his private web site critical of the Anglican Church of Canada for its permissive and condoning stand in relation to same-sex "marriage" are the cause of the complaint.
History Professor David Mullan wrote to his local Anglican bishop in 2004, criticizing the trend: "When Anglicanism in some manner recognizes homosexuality as a legitimate 'lifestyle' for Christians, it will become a church in schism," he charged.
On February 20, homosexual CBU student Shane Wallis, who also co-ordinates the campus' Sexual Diversity Office, lodged a formal human rights complaint with the University. In an e-mail response to Wallis' charge of a human rights offence, Wallis stated in his complaint that Mullan responded that "homosexuality is a repudiation of nature and the apotheosis of unbridled desire."
From Professor Mullan's web site it can be seen that, because the University has acknowledged that the proceedings of a CBU human rights tribunal may be used against him in a court of law, he has declined to participate in complaint hearings. He has, however, challenged both Wallis and the University to acknowledge his free speech rights as a Canadian.
"I have a Human Rights complaint against me, as a result of two letters to my former Anglican bishop placed on my private website and a reply I sent Shane Wallis in response to an unsolicited email," Professor Mullan explains on his web site.
"I met yesterday morning (in April) with the Human Rights Officer. At that time I asked her whether anything I said in the process might be used against me in court. Today, after legal consultation, she replied that yes, it could be. I immediately told her that I would not participate in the process. I told her also in our meeting that I find that the requirement that I give evidence, effectively incriminating myself (rather like the Tudor Court of Star Chamber and the ex officio oath) when asked for it is in my judgement a violation of the common law, and of my rights as a free-born Englishman. The procedure is a farce, and if pushed I will sue the institution for violating my civil rights."
"The process can never be fair until these conditions are altered, and until the complainant stands under potential judgement for entering a frivolous complaint," he adds. "No one in his right mind would participate in this without incurring the fees of a solicitor, and when found innocent, someone needs to re-imburse the defendant."
Professor Mullan goes on to quote the Canadian Charter of Rights on free speech. Stay tuned for developments.

I`m in N.B. myself. Watched the newscasts with such stunning disbelief I could barely recall the specific details.
Shocking to know the thought police have their own kangaroo court system .

I just get the impression that the social-fascists are using the Charter of Rights to silence the majority. They seem very happy to let the courts rather than parliament make the rules. In fact looking at their posts to the G & M it seems that some think the word "Supreme" as in "Supreme Court" means that the Supreme Court of Canada reigns supreme over the Canadian Parliament.

Exactly!
They use "Supreme" in reference to that Court - and Courts in general - the same way normal folks use it with respect to the "Supreme Being".
I can hardly wait to read Ann Coulter's new book "Godless".
Out next week and on the true religion of liberalism.
