My view of representative democracy is that the person implements the policies that they put forward at the election and based on those policies you voted for them. Therefore they are representing you by implementing their policies.

Yes the topic of the thread is about Laura Bush and her statements but I was answering you when you were saying

That clearly shows you feel he owes you something for your vote and I am pointing out he does not.

You probably owe him a great deal though for keeping you and your family safe.
