You get it.
Are you questioning the patriotism of those who would vote third party? .....Maybe we should.
Many people think the fight belongs in the General Election
It doesn't
It belongs in the Primaries
I don't vote for a candidate because the GOP tells me to .. I vote for the best candidate .. which is why I voted for Toomey in the PA Primaries
For the first time in my life, I will be voting third party.
I expect that things will get worse before they get better for conservatives in this country... but pain is generally a part of any meaningful change, as is sacrifice. These are things that most of our elected officials have forgotten.
To all of those who would stay home on election day: Get off your a$$es. America wasn't created by people who were so fed up they did nothing. It was created by those with a fighting spirit... who fought, or lobbied, or voted for what they believed in.
This country, and both major political parties with it, has been rotted from within by the fears and ideals of liberalism. How much more can America take? How much more can our nation be crippled by political correctness, which has gone from a social joke to a force that drives actual policymaking decisions? How much more illegal immigration, government growth and intrusion, overtaxation and utter political corruption? How many more liberties are we willing to lose? How much more are we willing to let the government take?
It is time to thoroughly clean house.
It is time to save the Republic.
There is no wiggle room .. we passed that point
Even if they don't win, third parties have impact. Look at the drastic move to the left the Dummycrats have made after Nader. The Republicans moved to the right after Perot. If the Republican party no longer represents your views vote for a party that does. If enough people feel the way you do, the Republican party will soon represent your views.
I'm not questioning anyone's patriotism .. though I do question their priorities
Our enemies would love us to split our vote and let them in. And that's all I'm going to say on the subject.
Amen.
You have committed yourself to a phantom that at this time only exists in your hopes, dreams and fantasies.
Sad, but true. I would, however, like to see the debates opened up to third party candidates so that the Dims and 'Pubbies are forced to reckon with new ideas. What we have now is a duopoly.
The definition of insanity......
A lot of Bull Moose Party types are around here, folks who would bolt to a new version with a leader perceived as charismatic and straight-talking.
And Roosevelt sure was great as a Bull Moose President, now wasn't he? ;)
Even if a modern equivalent were to win the presidency he would be a president with a COngress 100% not of his own party. What possible reason would the R's and D's have to help him make his new party a success? (Because it's for the good of the country? Yeah, right.)
I agree with your point about no one exceptional in politics. Remove Ronald Reagan from the last 40 years (my lifetime) and who've we got who was?
Hmmm.
We don't want another Clinton, We have to remember are soliders in Iraq. They are fighting for us and the Republican party fights for them! In spite of some of its flaws. A third party vote would lead to a Hillary Clinton President. We must stick together as a party. Immigration is very Important, but National Security and our soliders are much more Important!!!!
Then other intel services would plant R-bots and D-bots inside the two parties to make sure they stay intact. Some of our enemies benefit greatly from our stagnant two party system.
Our best hope is to elect high quality R's, which is why I support individual R candidates and no longer send any money to Ken.
I was wondering if you were going to post anything else to this thread after posting this initial call for a third party. I would think someone who claims to respect Reagan so much would more respect his views on the Republican party.
OMG, what warped thinking.
You call them cowards for challenging a duopoly? Any wuss can climb on board the gravy train but it takes sheer guts to go head to head with a well organized, financed and established political syndicate.
If that man were to stay in office for 8 years the entire house would be up for election 3 times with him as a popular champion of his party on the campain trail. Also the entire senate would go through 1 election per seat in that time period if he was as charismatic and compelling as T.R. he could certainly build a party in 8 years.
