Senate Ready to Pass Amnesty for Illegals - Stop Them Now!
http://www.RightMarch.com ^

Posted on 05/16/2006 11:19:19 AM PDT by Grendel9

Two weeks ago, the U.S. Senate went home for "spring break" -- but not before liberals tried to pass legislation that would grant "guest worker" AMNESTY for millions of illegal aliens. As Congress went home, hundreds of thousands of supporters of illegal immigrants rallied in cities around the country, in support of granting AMNESTY to millions of illegal aliens. This week, all of our Congressmen will be returning to Washington to debate the Kennedy/McCain "immigration reform" proposal... To give AMNESTY to millions of illegal aliens! We have to STOP Congress from doing that -- NOW!

Well hey, it's only fair. When you need a certain result, you poll a certain way.

And if that's true, I think it's a good thing.

#1. It would be the first time in CNN's history they have over-sampled Republicans.

#2. If Republicans like this plan this much, that's great for Republicans and the administration. Maybe Congress will actually listen and do something instead of the nothing that they've done for 50 years.

today, I have e-mailed my Texas Senators, Hutchison and Cornyn to encourage their votes in favor of border security.

Later I e-mailed them again thanking them for their votes this morning, and encouraging them to hang tough in favor of something like HR # 4337.

Yet another poll you don't like because it doesn't match YOUR pet issue.

For Californians,

Feinstein has made up her mind and cannot be moved, according to one of her aides.

Boxer aides refused to state any position for her.

Maybe both can be budged if enough people take a stand.

The one question that really through off Feinsteins aide was, who has asked to change our immigration laws and increase immigration in such a dramatic fashion? Hint: Not the people who elected her.

I try never to read anything into a CNN poll...simply take them in as information only. Didn't Gallop separate from them because of the way they wanted to do their polls?

I found the announcement:

http://newsbusters.org/node/4557

Quote:

3) By dissolving our partnership with CNN we believe that Frank and other Gallup analysts will be seen as more independent so they will be more likely to be invited on a wide variety of television shows rather than primarily linked to CNN. We believe with this new found independence, we will get covered by more broadcast media because we are not the poll of their competitor

Amnesty for these criminals spells absolute disaster for this country. The terrorists must be roaring with laughter.

Isn't there another thread saying that the CNN polls for this speech are the lowest of any speech Bush has given to date? And why is everyone quoting polls when they are to your advantage?

I saw that. So what's the answer? There's no one who is going to do what it takes to completely end illegal immigration so Bush' s plan is better than nothing.

I agree, the President GWBush speech last night was cover for the senate.

Guest worker does not have to be tied to illegal amnesty law changes. (why can't they use the current hardship law?)

The issue the conference committee and then the question is one of did the senate hand pick who the house participants will be?

Somehow we have to get this under control. IF we don't, life as we all know it will change drastically. You can't assimilate that many people from one ethnicity and not end up being the minority in the end. It's already happening in Southern California which has gone from ultra consrvative to ultra liberal.

Immigration should be equal, from around the world, and people who come here should come with something more to offer this country than a set of muscles.

This morning a man called in on the radio to tell about his wife, from Romania... she was originally here on a visa, they married, had a child who is in a gifted child program, they tried to get her papers to be legal and the judge said she has to return to Romania and wait her turn to come into the country and can leave the child here or take her with her....oh, the woman has a masters in one of the sciences and has/had a very good job here.

This sounds cruel, but I think people like this woman is worth ten of the illegal pregnant women (Adam Housely showed on FOX) coming across the border right now .... since they are coming alone, I can think of no other reason than to have their child in the USA.. and then will be on ADC, Medicaid, food stamps, etc..

The other issue to that article (in my mind) is we don't have the natural resources to support that kind of population growth. Water is a huge issue this side of the Rockies and it's growing more serious each year our drought persists.

Yet another poll you don't like because it doesn't match YOUR pet issue.

Please point out where I said I didn't believe the poll. I actually do, you know. That doesn't mean I agree with the people it counts. My comments really are meant to show how polls tend to reflect unrealistic perceptions of society at large.

Perhaps you are in agreement that the economy is the largest concern facing us.

What would you change?:
Employment is at a maximum.
Inflation is low,
According to your poll, gas prices are a seperate issue.
The stock market is booming.
I haven't noticed your presence in the "overwhelming " number of economic threads posted here.
But It's first.

Gas prices: What again would you do:
Anything short of increasing world supply is no solution.
Again your constant presence on those myriad gas price threads is staggering.
However it is second for concern.

Iraq: I am Glad we went.
It's progressing satisfactorily to me, better at times than others.
I wish our job there, were through.
What more is there?
But it's third.
If I were a member of the Communist anti-war groups such as, Moron.com, absurd.org, or pinko ladys, perhaps it would rate higher.

So I comment on the "Continuing Illegal Invasion" across our Southern border. It may not be other peoples priority, but, it's mine.

Secure the borders.
Hold your nose if you have too, and vote in November.

It is also against the law to be here ILLEGALLY. Why not start there?

Well, you know I agree with you. I just don't know what the answer is and so I'll support the one person who is actually proposing something that is doable and not cruel.

I meant to mention also, Carolyn, that given where you live I know you probably see and suffer the effects of illegal immigration more than a lot of us do. I will support any effort you make to push Congress to actually do something instead of just talk about it.
