Senate Ready to Pass Amnesty for Illegals - Stop Them Now!
http://www.RightMarch.com ^

Posted on 05/16/2006 11:19:19 AM PDT by Grendel9

Two weeks ago, the U.S. Senate went home for "spring break" -- but not before liberals tried to pass legislation that would grant "guest worker" AMNESTY for millions of illegal aliens. As Congress went home, hundreds of thousands of supporters of illegal immigrants rallied in cities around the country, in support of granting AMNESTY to millions of illegal aliens. This week, all of our Congressmen will be returning to Washington to debate the Kennedy/McCain "immigration reform" proposal... To give AMNESTY to millions of illegal aliens! We have to STOP Congress from doing that -- NOW!

This PAC will send a FAX to all 100 Senators in your name for a fairly small price. If you want to send a Fax to all Senators and House Members, it gets a bit pricier. But just how angry are you?

Their message here is STOP the AMNESTY for illegals. I recvd this via e-mail. They probably got my url from the MinuteMen Org. But I feel better now that I am letting the Senate know they better listen to the People! American Citizens, that is.

The Senate is a lost cause- one man has a chance to stop this train wreck and that is Dennis Hastert. This whole mess depends upon which Congressmen he appoints to negotiate with the Senate. If he appoints conservatives like Sensenbrenner we'll be in good hands. If he appoints RINOs like Rep. Flake, it's all over. Because if the House as a whole gets to vote on whatever bill is agreed on, the RINOs and Dems together will have a majority.

Don't kid yourself. You can send them 200 million faxes and it won't change a thing.

Rove and Bush don't want to stop illegal immigration. They did nothing when Bush was governor of Texas. They did nothing for 6 years when Bush was president. They allowed the border to remain a cake walk for so many years. They refuse to prosecute employers who cheat the tax code and employ the workers here illegally. Last time I checked tax evasion was a serious crime . . . try to not pay your taxes and see what happens to you.

Bush's proposals are a joke.

He never mentioned penalties for employers who hire illegals. Anyone who comes here illegaly is going to be looking for some kind of employment, no ifs, ands or buts. If employers face a huge fine, the problem solves itself.

How many employers were fined for hiring illegal workers during the 6 years Bush has been president?

Or send your own Emails for free . . . until Bill # 602P, adding a 5 cent federal surcharge to every Email you send, is passed and signed into law.

(That's a joke, BTW.)

Yes, Chaney said he has been aware of the illegal issue for a couple of years. I guess they thought it would just fade away. Sorry guys, the speech wasn't bad but, I'm afraid more people than ever are not pleased.

CNN has a poll just up, and the results are staggeringly in the president's favor. 79 percent of those who watched had a very favorable or favorable view of the speech, and those who support the president's policies rose in number from 42 to 67 percent.

He never mentioned penalties for employers who hire illegals.

He said:

Third, we need to hold employers to account for the workers they hire. It is against the law to hire someone who is in this country illegally.

Full Text of Speech

Penalties are already in place, ICE needs to enforce it. To be fair, they have done some raids (people arrested, fines paid), but they need to step it up.

Sounds like a lot of people are buying into "The Continuing Invasion Act of 2006."

I weep for my country.

I called Boxer and Feinstein today. First time I have called a senator, I'm embarrassed to say but this issue has me seeing red. Feinstein's line was busy but I was able to vent when I called Boxer. I will be calling Feinstein again.

We need to flood their phone lines!

Having trouble find any figures for 2005, everything I have found cited 2004 and state the figures have gone down. According to the ICE Website:

From Fiscal Year 2004 to Fiscal Year 2005, the number of ICE worksite enforcement criminal investigations increased from 465 to 511.

ICE Fact Sheet

They've actually been concentrating on worksites critical to security, but there are numerous other worksite cases cited there. The only fines I can find is that Walmart paid 11 million and their contractors paid 4 million and they are seeking 11 million in another case involving restaurants, but they have also seized property and bank accounts of others.

Arrests have increased, as the recent roundup of 1,187 surpassed the 2005 total of 1,125 worksite arrests.

The reason for the decrease in fines is that ICE has shifted worksite enforcement tactics from levying fines to issuing criminal charges and penalties, including the seizure of assets, per the Washington Post:

Serious criminal charges once typically reserved for drug traffickers and organized-crime figures are increasingly being used to target businesses that employ illegal immigrants, a strategy highlighted last week when three Maryland restaurateurs pleaded guilty to federal offenses and agreed to forfeit more than $1 million in cash and property.

The little-publicized approach, which can include charging such employers with money laundering and seizing their assets, amounts to a strategic shift in the enforcement of immigration law in the workplace.

As a result, investigations into the employment of illegal immigrants, known as worksite enforcement, resulted in 127 criminal convictions in 2005 nationwide, up from 46 the previous year, according to figures from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

A single criminal investigation last year resulted in settlements and forfeitures of $15 million, an amount that surpassed the sum of administrative fines -- the traditional tool of workplace enforcement -- from the previous eight years.

Personally, I think that is a good thing...companies like Walmart have deep pockets, so 11 million is a drop in the bucket to them. Start filing criminal charges and this crap will stop.

In conclusion, another article states that they have asked for a FY2006 budget increase for workplace enforcement. Let's hope it gets passed.

The FNC poll confirms the CNN poll. But carry on. I can see that you don't even have a passing acquaintance with facts.

#The economy is booming, if people were really concerned they would know that.
#Gas prices are where they are unless we can get the enviro-whacko's straightened out.
#Iraq is actually going very well all though the msm doesn't want you to know.
#Immigration is about all that's left in which we can do something at the moment, so that's where my focus is.

Secure our borders. STOP the Continuing Invasion.
