Election 2006, Election 2008
Our Tiny Little Minds ^ | May 14, 2006 | me, et al

"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?"

The big problem with the Baby Boom is, it will start to retire by 2011 (1946 + 65), with a peak (if memory serves) in 2016, after which the sheer numbers start to decline some, with a "boomlet" striking again circa 2023 (1968 + 65). If it weren't for the productive immigrant population supporting the Ponzi scheme that is Social Security...

The reason I started this topic was that the poll came out, and I started to watch Saturday Night Defunct, and the reprehensible robot Al Gore gave the opening bit, a parallel universe state of the union.
Work harder to get conservatives elected 77.4% 4,678
Turn it over to the Rats 22.6% 1,367
Those were the results when I responded. Nearly 1400 idiots, eh?

We tell these people to get rid of the rinos in the primaries.

They tell us they are unable to beat the rinos in the primaries.

I say they keep losing in the primaries because their numbers are too small and if they boycott or go 3rd party, it will not matter.

I even think it will be beneficial as a lot of good conservatives are fed up with their single issue, cry baby mentality.

I think if the single issue whinners quit, the adults will be more energized and we actually gain.

Nearly 1400 idiots, eh?

Could be 1,400 people who are having a hard time seeing the difference between a RINO who pushes the liberal agenda and a Democrat who does the same thing.

It's not just the failure of Bush and Congress to protect the borders. I refer you to the current issue of National Review magazine and a feature article by Kate O'Beirne and Rich Lowry.

It's a lengthy article describing the UTTER failure of the GOP majority not only to assert conservative principles and legislation but to actually promote part of the liberal agenda.

The old line that the other party is "worse" is neither inspiring nor motivating the base. All polls also confirm that.

Here's the last sentence of the article: "...nervous Republicans will ask themselves, Can this Congress be saved? But the question frustrated Republican VOTERS are increasingly asking is, Is it WORTH saving?"

I think not securing the borders will destroy the party by frustrating the voters from coming out.

Do I think that is good? No.

Do I think the Republican party causes their own problems?
Heck yeah! The don't listen to a vast majority of the people and the act when in power like they are a weak minority.

If border issues are a problem for Republican voters, The Republican Party isn't doing enough to protect the borders?

If you are planing to vote against the Republican Party, tell me what any other party has done to protect the border.

The Democrats have done nothing in protecting the border and, the Independent always vote with the liberals.

I don't like the way the Republican Party is working, but I am sure I would like the lying left and Independent a lot less.

If the Republicans don't nominate someone in '08 who - for a change! - reflects the Reagan legacy, I'll write-in for Tancredo and let the rest of the GOP decide between "tweedle-dee" and "tweedle-dum".

Many will drop out because they're sick of having to decide who is bad and who is worse!

Well put. As the Dhimmicrat, Tip O'Neill said, "all politics is local". There will be so-called RINOs, simply because of their constituents. In the long term, only by being shown that certain (and obviously, not all) Republican ideas make more sense, and are not worth giving up by voting for the Dhimmicrats.

Also, in addendum, as the rest of the country goes, to some extent, so go the RINOs. If Republicans lose in places where clearly they should not, there will be no stopping the minority party, the Dhimmicrats.

Without the votes in 2006 and 2008, there won't be anything to do about the border, because the Dhimmicrats -- despite Hitlery's disingenuous comment on how we need to build a fence -- aren't interested in doing anything but putting up loudspeakers and tape-loop "c'mon over, we surrender". We will not gain by surrendering to the Party of Treason, we will lose everything. Supporting Republicans means we will not win everything. That's a little thing called life.
