Yes, but the men in costume at it are mostly gay.

Honest.

:-)

My sister. She was in one with her boyfriend.

I don't think they've taken part in one since.

Not exactly a slow week for GGG, but here's one last ping to ring in the summer. :') Look for it under "Middle Ages and Renaissance" in the Digest. :')

To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. Thanks.
Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on or off the
"Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list or GGG weekly digest

There's one between Denver and Colorado Springs. Been there for years. I think they were more popular in the 70's and 80's, but there are still quite a few around.

Mine. This will be my fifth year as a performer.

I just found out who I'll be playing . . . Mad Queen Juana of Portugal! I am SO excited. Gotta come up with ideas for craziness now.

It's a lot of fun - I'm really looking forward to this season!

TRF is the biggest Renaissance festival in the country, and we cast members are proud of the entertainment we provide.

I grew up less than 10 miles from it -- could get there by back roads all the way -- and I think I went to it a grand total of 3 times, twice after I left home for college then a job. I wish I'd gone more often.

My step-daughter's boyfriend excluded.

Cedar City UT used to have the Ren faire AND the Scottish Games on the same weekend. When they stopped the Games, we didn't go, though they still draw a real crowd.

Was at the local Ren Faire in my area a year or three back.
Was eyeballing some of the knives and swords being offered at a few of the shops there.
Have a few weblinks from one or two of the shops that had been there.
Like Moresca.com.
(Clothing stuff.)

Moresca's stuff is very nice, and worth what you'll pay for it, but the workers they have at TRF are unbearably snotty. If you can do business with them via mail, that's probably preferable.
