In Germany a woman who collects unemployment payments cannot refuse work in brothel.
A very misleading headline.
Agreed. The group in question is appears to be an organization independent of the Catholic Church. Just because you call your group "Catholic" does not mean it is affiliated or supported by the Church itself.
If I started a group of two called "Democrats for Bush" do you think the headlines would be "Democrat Party Supports Bush"?
Exactly. Some FReepers say we should legalise prostitution: I don't think they've thought through the implications. They should look at Germany.
A pity the Holy Father cannot have The Swiss Guards pound the bejayzuz out of the authors of this misleading piece of crap from the word-processor of some ink-stained, Christian-baiting wretch.
Straight Bullshit. Stop spreading rumors like that without at least delivering a link.

Well sorry for the disbelief and thanks for the link. Still don't believe it.
Why did you change the headline from "Official Catholic Church Women's Group Involved in Legal Prostitution Scheme in Germany"?
Not according to Snopes.
Or Nevada, where there's a distinct lack of women being kidnapped for sex slavery or welfare applicants being forced to work in brothels.
Apparently "lifesitenews" doesn't reply; it's just a posting bot. With an apparent Jack Chick orientation.

What say you, Religion Moderator? Call lifesitenews to account on this or just let it be?
Oh yeah! Our European allies have been evolving rather nicely.
/eye roll
You do have a point. An unbelievable list of posts!
Yeah. And just because "Catholics for Free Choice" is pro-abortion, it means the Catholic Church supports abortion.
Quick take:
This is a report fanned up by a sensationalist feminist lawyer in Hamburg...
The story, as reported on major radio news here in the USA (I heard it
either on KABC or some other station in Los Angeles) probably is
an urban myth, as described by snopes.com.
If so, just another example of how MSM outlets really do stink at fact-checking.
Googling tells an interesting tale:
Here's a link to one of the original reports:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/01/30/wgerm30.xml
Note the name of the lawyer Mechthild Garweg in Hamburg, who says that
such scenarios (cuts in unemployment benefits for declining
"the oldest job in the world") are not inconceivable given current regulations.
WELL...googling the lawyers name takes us to a cached page from the
"Captain's Quarters" blog,
http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:xanCBhN3AV4J:www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/003673.php+%22Mechthild+Garweg%22&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=5
which had this interesting response:
"
I emailed the link to a German friend who is an attorney, asking if the entire
country had gone completely nuts. He responded that the cases described
in the story are hypothetical, and almost certain NOT to happen in practice.
He also said the lawyer cited (Mechthild Garweg) is known for her extreme,
feminist attention-grabbing stunts. Germany's answer to Gloria Allred,
if you will.
"
No response yet to my #14. You there, Religion Mod?
