Opinions needed: Party line of Kimsoft.Com, "Independent directory for resources on Korea"?

Posted on 05/04/2006 6:13:12 AM PDT by NZerFromHK

I remember there was a website named www.kimsoft.com that claims to be an "independent directory for resources on Korean and Korean American history, culture, economy, politics and military." Supposedly the editor is an American of Korean descent, but I have seen lots of hardcore anti-American articles from a supposedly American-based news source and which sing praise to North Korea such that even the famously biased CNN claims that it is a biased news source towards the North Korean party line.

The thing that strikes me most is that it offered nothing in sympathy to the victims of 9/11 soon after it. Instead it posted diatrabes of justifications to 9/11 such as speech from bin Laden or Arabic newspaper editorials directly translated from Arab. As it was mid September 2001 I knew that it was something even American liberals wouldn't do back then. (It may be a different story now, but even Michael Moore was savvy enough to shut his mouth back then).

My question is: is this a news source that is essentially a fellow traveller of North Korea, or even with official North Korean involvement?

Kimsoft is generally considered a pro-DPRK agitprop site. It does contain a good list of links on agitprop and spy agencies though.
