May 1st, and the "No Gringo Day" boycott of America, has passed largely unnoticed -- except, of course, by the left-wing media. In a striking example of media-bias, the AP has published an article which is transparently sympathetic to the illegals: Immigrants Demonstrate Economic Clout. The very first line of this article? "Immigrants made their point Monday: A lot of work wouldn't get done without them."

Wrong. False. No es la verdad.

There is no job which cannot be performed by hard-working Americans -- for the right wage.

So, what would really happen if the borders were sealed tomorrow? In the short term, higher operating costs for businesses, and thus higher prices for consumers, as employers are forced to switch over to the legal labor pool. Some businesses which are heavily dependent on cheap illegal labor may find that they are no longer profitable, and will be forced to shut down -- a punishment which they richly deserve, for their willful disregard of U.S. immigration laws.

But, in the long run?

I didn't notice a thing out of place yesterday.

Then again I was going about my business, I was working.

After work we got food from the store and cooked steaks on the grill.
