The writer shows an intransigent refusal to assimilate into American culture. How arrogant for native european to come over here and assume that in this country, fairness has anything to do with white people.

Yes, this debate IS about one simple concept...fairness. There are millions of Europeans, Africans, South Americans and Asians who wait for years for the promise of America to be available to them. Proximity to the border does not change the ideal of fairness, disparity of wealth does not change the ideal of fairness. We are a fair people, and fairness should be what this debate is all about. Fairness for immigrants isn't the only thing the debate is about, but it has been neglected in most discussions. Excellent post, good sir. BTTT.
