I worked six blocks from there (Marion and Hampton) for six years. It pains me to imagine those grounds covered with 5000 illegals and their DemocRAT enablers, and makes me nauseous to imagine Jim "$4 Million Pedestrian Overpass" Clyburn up there pandering to them.

Great job, and you've got HUGE guts going into the belly of the beast like that. I salute you!

During the last election I was a poll watcher at Benedict College. At the time Rep Clyburn was unknown to me. I wish I had known who he was, because he almost punched me in the face! I would have leaned in instead of back like I did. He needs to take a leap off his bridge!

I was, unfortunately, constantly reminded of Rep. Clyburn every day, as I lived in Northeast and had to drive down SC 277 to work, under the $4 million "Representative James Clyburn Pedestrian Overpass." The one that connected the two housing projects on either side of 277--y'know, so the disadvantaged yoots wouldn't be running across four lanes of highway constantly and risking getting run over? Well, last I checked a year and a half ago, the yoots were too lazy to walk the 1/4 mile down to the overpass and they're still playing Frogger across 277 at rush hour, sometimes with CPD officers in foot pursuit.

I love Virginia, but I do miss Columbia sometimes. Don't miss my old job, but I do miss Lake Murray and the great people down in South Carolina.

You were a poll watcher at BENEDICT? You should get a medal for that.

Yes, Benedict! I even had to challenge many of the votes. I challenged votes because they came with no State ID or registration cards. Many came to vote with just the cheap school ID or an out of state ID. I was threatened with a "lynching!" I was in a room FULL of big college students. Most of the day I was the ONLY poll watcher. One poll worker began shouting, "This woman wants to suppress the black vote!" They kept letting people come and go in the line that had been checked and I was threatened by police when I challenged that many of those people had to be checked again for proof of registration. When I had to write my home address on the paper ballots of those whose votes had been challenged, a poll worker tried to scare me by saying really loud to the challenged voter "Watch what she is writing, you need that information!" As I stood behind the checking table, behind me YELLING at me was and NAACP rep, A local Demo rep, An attorney from Inez tenenbaum's campaign,Rep Clyburn, and the University president among others. Rep Clyburn. He claimed I was standing too close to the poll workers and shouted and put up his hand to move me back. He almost hit me in the face. I should have let him hit me instead of leaning back quickly! The president of the university got on my nerves and I finally turned and said, "Sir, the requirements to vote are the same throughout SC. The information has been out in the papers and on the Internet for months." His reply was "Well YOU'RE middle class, you can read that stuff." I replied, " Are you telling me that Benedict College students CAN'T READ?" The look on his face was priceless!! I had contacted the Repub. party HQ and they sent Lindsay Grahams' personal attorney who was there on and off throughout the day. He escorted me to my car since my life had been threatened throughout the day. My name and address was given to the federal marshal's office in case I was victimized. Months later at city council, there was a special meeting to "expose the voter suppression" After hearing about an hour of college students come forward saying they had been "intimidated" by a poll watcher, I stood up and said, "I am a slightly overweight middle aged woman who was in a roomful of college students many of them athletes. Gee, It is amazing I could intimidate anyone." The meeting ended with the conclusion that the BENEDICT poll watchers were wrong and I was right. Of course THAT didn't make the papers or news. I went through hell. I even had a parent write my principal claiming that I should be fired since I was a "racist" history teacher. He knew it was crap, but it was hard nonetheless.
