Isn't Charles Henrickson due back from his Lenten Exile this weekend?

Yes, probably on Monday. We all miss him.

By the way, the "official position" of Scamdy, at this moment, waiting for things to develop, is in that old legal term (I forget it, even though it's on the tip of the tongue)....."the thing speaks for itself."

I think the Bostonian Idiot is making hay out of weeds, but I have been wrong before. Stay tuned.....

I would love to see this story brought up again. We know where the truth lies.

You know exactly what's going to happen, to kill this story with Michael Moore, once one of his representatives chats with the distruntled one.

The disgruntled one (aka "benburch") is a notorious paranoiac, and one can see it now......

.....yapping on and on and on and on about how the whole Scamdy thing was financed by Karl Rove, the Republican National Committee, a former political ally and employer of the late one, George Bush, Richard Cheney, P-J Comix, and even the WCTU (Women's Christian Temperance Union), who were "out" to get the late one because he was "too dangerous" for the survival of the present administration.

The disgruntled one is going to go on and on and on and on and on about this, until the representative of Michael Moore hangs up the telephone.

Speaking of DUmmie benburch, what happened to his GRAND SCHEME of sending MILLIONS of DUmmies into Washington, D.C. and overthrow the government? That thread of his was featured in a recent DUFU edition.

Who knows what the cause was. He first thought he had jaundice. Tests showed he had an encapsulated tumor (which by definition is benign). The doc (one of the best pancreatic docs in the country btw) put a shunt in and sent Andy on his merry way. Somehow this blossomed into full-blown pancreatic cancer (although he was perhaps the healthiest cancer patient one has ever seen considering his ability to jet around the country attending seminars and being wined and dined by groupies).

Then JUST before surgery...which was delayed because he needed a test first/JH lost the checks/paypal money was withheld because of freepers (take your pick, it's all here)...the diagnosis was (miraculously) changed to an BACK to an encapsulated tumor...which was good news, of course. Well, to everyone but Wee Willy who had his brush with reality meltdown PJ mentioned above. In spite of this, Andy had his whipple, which was a remarkable success as he was in and out of the hospital quicker than you can say "he could've gotten free healthcare in Seattle".

Then tragedy of tragedies, he finally makes it home with Termite...who it seems was able to take out a home equity loan to remodel the bathroom, but NOT to pay for life-saving surgery of his significant other...and what do you know, he gets a post-op infection and dies (in Virginia Mason, where presumably the state paid for his care). Then again, maybe the surgery wasn't so successful because supposedly the post-op infection weakened his resistence and the cancer spread throughout his whole body. Not only that, but evidently (in spite of the fact that Andy himself said the drugs were "rockin") he died in extreme pain. Those of us who were involved in the expose were threatened by Pitt (how is it these people who have NO money and are suffering under the evil Bush regime can afford to have lawyers on retainer...I don't even HAVE someone I call "my lawyer")...we're still waiting...guess he didn't have the cajones to pull it off after all.

He is looking for healthcare horror stories from anyone who has one.

Someone should tell Michael, I eat therefore I am, Moore to try asking people from the UK, Canada or anywhere else they have socialized medicine.

If you know anyone under those systems then send them Michael, I love halliburton stock, Moore's website link.

I wondered about that myself.

I'm starting to think that the disgruntled one and the Bostonian Idiot are one and the same person, under different DUmmie screen-names, because the consequences of their solemn pronouncements is always.....zilch.

An addendum. Of course, I REALLY do NOT think they are the same person; I was just being facetious.

There are some who might disagree, but I rather think the disgruntled one is a better, more expert, more talented, writer than the Bostonian Idiot.

The Bostonian Idiot is full of pomp and fluff, and nothing else. The disgruntled one, when he is not in his often-occurring violent paranoiac rages, writes good simple prose.....which takes more talent than writing bad prose.

But the deal is to read the stuff the disgruntled one writes when he is calm; once the paranoia strikes him, they're just words randomly scattered around.

But my understanding is that they DO intend to go after the freepers at least in passing. Those goons should expect to come out of their places of employment to find camera crews waiting at their cars...

IF they could even get to my car at my place of work, they would be hauled off to jail for criminal trespass, and not by the local boys, either. Even local and state cops can't touch me at my place of work, for ANYTHING (and I really miffed a local boy when he followed me back to work to question me about an expired sticker on my car, and I told him he had no jurisdiction here. When he threatened to write me a ticket, MY BOSS told him HE was trespassing and to leave...)

MM and his merry band of idiots would have to deal with the POSTAL INSPECTORS, and they don't play nice...

Thanks for the refresher. It's coming back to me.

Interestingly enough, I didn't know anything about any of these people or this situation until Pitt questioned the fund raising in the first place. Oh yeah, and Benburch was threatening someone with a baseball bat.....after he too, was initially questioning the fund raising, IIRC. They're all so very odd.

Even though it's only April, I nominate that for "Understated Comment of the Year."

"The Bostonian Idiot is full of pomp and fluff, and nothing else."

He reminds me of Mr. Micawber in David Copperfield.

I also thought this turkey was supposed to be in the can by now.

The classless Professor Harold Hill ( Michael Moore, my favorite capitalist ) is also working on Fahrenheit 9/11½ and I heard that there were a couple of facts he needed to expunge from the script. Can't have them messing up a "good story."

Res ipsa loquitor.

Thank you; it was on the tip of the tongue, but I never got past the first two words.

"The thing speaks for itself"--a principle long embedded in ancient English common law, where one is not required to prove something, because that thing proves itself.

That internet scam last year (about this very same time, as a matter of fact; my, how tempus does fugit!) was a dead skunk that no one needed to "prove" was a putrid rotten decaying dead skunk.

PJ, I hope that you keep this thread going through this weekend -- an earthly reward for Charles's selfless DUFU deprivation during Lent.

It's surprising to me that what's going on at the Dump with the major players in Andyscam could be construed as eagerness to be a part of MM's cinematic interpretation of "The Andy Stephenson Situation."

The smell of fear can be detected; it's panic time at the Dump. The April 2005 "diagnosis" done at JH that Pitt peddled on Conservative Underground came from whom? BB, Beth, Stephanie, or did the good doctor turn up at Bukowski's one rainy night in Boston and leave this "proof" with Ty, the doorman? Provenance is not a region in France.

Frank, "the thing speaks for itself" is "res ipsa loquitur" in legalese; another legal term with which they may be, at this very minute, scrambling to familiarize themselves, is "corrigenda"--"things to be corrected."

PJ, a lot of the young people at the beach last year became big fans of DUFU during the Andyscam. They apparently continue to follow it back at school and college. Tonight I received a copy of the whole DU thread as an attachment to an e-mail from a gang of them, with hilarious commentary.

Pitt is the object of their surprisingly sophisticated ridicule, something he is familiar with from his early years. But Beth inspires them to heights of humour only seen on DUFU. They, as callous yutes, take particular delight in her intellectual pretensions, riffing on her attributing to John Donne the Shakesperean sonnet CXVI, "Let me not to the marriage of true minds, Admit impediment. Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove."

To BB's hope that Mikey treats "the surgeon well" in the movie, Beth responds, "The surgeon might be a good guy but his bulldogs were b...hes. When they couldn't find the check that was sitting on the mailroom sup's desk, she refused to talk to me any more and she had Andy escorted out of the building by security."

This certainly should renew the indignation at the Dump
It should also arouse something other than mirth in the Director of Johns Hopkins Security Department. Although JH is not mentioned in these posts.

Cindie, do you think they could be referring to the surgeon at Seattle's Country Doctor Clinic, with staff priveleges at Swedish Medical Center Providence, also in Seattle, who performed a stent placement on Andy, and was scheduled to perform further surgery at the end of April, until the date, according to "great aunt of triplets" was changed to May 2nd, or May 4th?

If this is the case, why would the finance department at Swedish Medical be looking for personal checks in the mailroom? Andy was on Medicaid from late February, with Medicaid paying medical expenses three month's retroactively.

Is Beth confusing "Kim" (the JH financial officer with whom she had a touching correspondence) with Karen Johnson, a nurse at Country Doctor Clinic, and Andy's primary care giver? Why would Swedish Medical's Security Department "escort Andy out of the building?"

Andy's surgical procedure on May 2nd or May 4th would have been invasive and extensive, requiring at least ten days in hospital recuperation, or longer. Abdominal surgery of the nature which even a benign growth on the bile duct would necessitate, would render the patient unable to walk even if escorted by security guards.

The Howland piece in the Seattle Weekly apparently indicated that Karen Johnson knew of a cancer diagnosis and knew about Andy and Johns Hopkins. As Andy's primary care person, Mrs. Johnson with the staff at Country Doctor Clinic would have been able to refer Andy to Johns Hopkins and his Medicaid would have covered his treatment there, if, as the Howland article indicates, this was the case.

It is reasonable to expect that Karen Johnson, as Andy's primary care giver, and according to DU posts at the time, Andy's close personal friend, will have important information to relate to the producer of this epic, information that is unavailable to the Dump, at this time.

A DU gadfly, "arwalden" has another, more pointed message for Will.

"I'll bet Andy's Mom and Ted (termite) are THRILLED At This News! Have they been contacted yet? Have you personally spoken with them? What do they have to say about it? Are THEY as eager to participate and get involved as you are? It's all very exciting, isn't it?"

I suppose Skinner will delete this thread before Charles returns.

Thanks for another great DUFU. I really needed it after this week.

Happy Easter, Good Passover, to all those on FR who celebrate these solemn, joyous, holy days.
