HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Haleigh Poutre's birth mother is expected to file a court motion seeking more of a say in her daughter's medical care.
Allison Avrett plans to appear in Holyoke Juvenile Court on Wednesday.
Haleigh, 12, has been hospitalized since police say her adoptive mother and stepfather severely beat her in September.
About a week after taking custody of the Westfield girl in September, the Department of Social Services sought permission to remove her from life support.

With Greer getting away with breaking the laws, it sets a dangerous example to other corrupt and/or perverted judges. No wonder more and more of them are disregarding the laws, in some cases giving a mere slap on the wrist to dangerous criminals. There is Judge John A. Connor of Columbus, Ohio - refused to jail a man who raped two children. Connor acted as if it was nothing, and when interviewed he just laughed.

Justice OConnor has it backwards. Dictatorships begin with the idea that government can deprive people of their fundamental rights. Thats what happened to Terri, who was neither terminally ill, nor comatose, nor on life support.

Exactly. Well stated.
Judge Connor thinks this is a game. He should be suspended or disbarred or whatever. He seems to equate having an alcohol addiction as similar to a pedophilia addiction. "It's a disease, and I'm working on mine!" (He didn't really say that in so many words- his quote was different but means about the same thing.) Gimme a break! I'm so tired of bad judges! Even though I voted against him in a recent election, he still made it through. He's in till 2011, unless we can get him removed.
God bless Father Pavone! I wish we had more like him!
Boy, that was easy enough! I thought it would be more complicated than that. Thanks BB.
Connor has to be removed (along with Greer and others). He is a pervert. He may be an alcoholic, but he obviously also at the very least identifies with child rapists. Connor is even worse that that Vermont judge.
I agree about Father Pavone.
It really doesn't matter to me how "good" it is . I'll be buying it on principle.
From thread chat, I gather that Mrs. O'Conner said something el stupido. I missed it. Can you fill me in?
I tried IE and Netscape. I tried every switch, tool, file, bell, button and whistle on Real, Windows Media and Quick Time. I right-clicked everything within 10 feet EXCEPT the link. Oh, well, screwing up is the best way to get somebody nice to remind you how to do it :-) Thank you.
Ain't that the truth!
Crist is toast. There are more African Americans, Hispanics, and pro-lifers than there are sheriff deputies. He obviously has to investigate thoroughly, because that's his job! If he can't do this job, how can he handle being governor of Florida? Gallagher can run with this, if he's smart. Of course he's probably much to nice to beat Crist over the head with this.
I was going to comment on that post, but I'll post it here. That Greer can make jokes about a woman he allowed to be murdered, is incredible. What is more incredible is that people at the Tiger Bay Club thought it was funny. Dark side, indeed. I don't think I would want to live in Florida.
I misunderstood about Jeb and Fox. I watch the local Fox channel, but rarely watch cable news.
With a mind slipping away like that, she'd better be a little more careful sticking up for the likes of George Greer and George Felos.
Be careful what you say. If you ever visit Florida, that statement could be used against you. You said you wouldn't want to live if you were in Florida.
Looks like Connor would fit in nicely on the California Supreme Court.

Hahahaa, okay that's not funny ;-)
I think even Barry Goldwater slipped in his final days. They work on them until they find the weak spots.
"It takes a lot of degeneration before a country falls into dictatorship, but we should avoid these ends by avoiding these beginnings."
There the press goes, quoting her out of context again. What she meant was that we should look to third world countries as a model for our system of government, and all dictatorships should be ruled by out of control judges.
