Hunger strike in Beslan. Day Eight. The took another woman to the hospital. Emilia Bzarova started feeling ill. The doctor came and diagnosed her with hypoglycemia (perhaps I am mistaken in how this word is written), which is an acute depression of the sugar in the blood. Her pusle was greater than 100 per minute (the norm is up to 80), a rapid heart rate. While we were dressing Emilia for the hospital she lost consciousness. Emilia drank little water during the 7 days.

Velveeta, thank you for making a thread to the mothers from Beslan.
They will not survive much longer without food.
Politicians need to remember that they are elected to serve the people and can be un-elected.
Have you signed the petition for the Beslan Mothers Hunger strike?
I don't quite understand what's going on here; what do they want?
It did seem to me that Russia's response to Beslan was not particularly firm and that perhaps there were some people in the local government involved or at least turning a blind eye to the threat of local Muslim terrorism.
The curious thing is that no other government has given much support to the people of Beslan, either. It's almost as though this never happened. In the list of recent Muslim atrocities, Beslan is rarely mentioned, even though it was one of Islam's cruelest and most deliberate attacks.
I'm puzzled.

At about 9 PM while leaving the office of the NGO 'United Citizen's Front' on Makarenko St in Moscow, several unknown persons attacked and beat her severely. She was knocked unconscious and kicked several times in the face. No money was taken, nor was her laptop stolen. She was simply beaten up and left lying in the snow.
She writes:
Thank you for the support and kind words. It's a lot of help right now. A little later I'll try to write about what happened. I'm in a lot of pain and can barely get around, my ribs hurt awful and my whole face is smashed except for my forehead. I'm very sad about my teeth - two were knocked out :((((
