As a Christian, I find it equally as offensive for republicans to claim Christ as the democrats.
Makes sense. Everyone knows he's a Penn State grad, so it stands to reason he lives in Pennsylvania.
I've heard he coaches football there as well. :-)
God may not be a Republican, but Satan is definitely a Democrat! :-D
It's just a funny story, not something to get upset about, IMO.
I agree!!! It was just too amusing to pass up.
Well we do know that He's NOT a democrat. We do know that. LOL.
I realize this is probably taking the issue more seriously than intended, but my point is, to suggest Jesus is a democrat, or a republican or any other ideology is to denigrate God...it is a form of blasphemy. It is to suggest that there is an ideology that Jesus needs to sign on to, as if God were not perfect and knowing what is best. It is to suggest that God can sign onto our agendas and plans instead of the truth, which is that we should sign onto God's agenda and plans. It is to shift the focus of ideology to man from God...and that is idolatry.
I realize this was intended as a joke and not a theological claim...so I simply said that I found either party claiming Jesus offensive...but that is the theology behind why I find it offensive....it puts man above God.
Sorry you take offense. Thanks for not burning down a city. I reiterate: we can rest comfortably knowing that G-d is NOT a democrat. I don't know what his political leanings are but they are certainly not in that general direction. I say these things simply because of the obnoxious bumper stickers I have seen in my town that proclaim "God is NOT a Republican". Most of those stickers festoon the cars of atheist equivalents.
BTW, theology is not really a topic for political discussion. I admire your adherence to your religious dogma but you'll probably turn off a lot of people, not only here but everywhere you walk, if you dwell on how the world perceives your Saviour. He is your Saviour and may or may not be the saviour of others. One's saviour, after all, is who one accepts.
You're welcome...I hardly ever burn down cities:P

My point is simply that we may be close or not close to God's views...it is clear that the dems are farther away than the republicans...but there is not a 100% overlap.
I understand, which is why it wasn't included in my first point. You might, however, be surprised how many people inform their views from their religious ones. I do realize that not everyone is a Christian...which is why I didn't insist that everyone adopt or agree with my statement. Of course I'm correct :P but that's another issue entirely. Best regards.
