PoliticsNY.Net: Breaking News First:
Update: Sources: "Bush will travel to Nashville, TN. Wednesday." ###
I have an incredible story that I will publish because my military sources are 100%: "VP Cheney is stepping down for health reasons. He will be replaced by Senator Frist." I am attempting to get further confirmation.
Sources: "The announcement will be tomorrow or very soon in TN." Stay tuned ###

Cornyn would be my choice.
Well, that puts an end to that.
As to whether Bush has been derelict in promoting Republican Presidential prospects in 2008, I've believed it since the day Bush picked Dick Cheney as his running mate in 2000 (as much as I admire the latter, but for his promotion of LOST).
Likely a rumor started to divert attention from Harry Reid's woes this week.
The Brain or the Exterminator, either way they're done.
illuzzi and I have a history, he has tried to destroy me on websites all over Buffalo
Rummy???
No, it's not. If Frist gives up his seat, his replacement in the Senate would be appointed by a Democratic governor.
Yep it is Algore's state, sort of. I think he really grew up in the Watergate Hotel, didn't he?
If the VP were from TN, then there might be a chance such an announcement would be made from TN. If the story was Chenney would resign, there would be a search announced and then Frist would be announced as VP in TN, maybe that would be believeable. The story offered at the top of this thread is not. Besides, Bork PRESIDING over a Senate with Ted Kennedy in it still would be too delicious to pass up.
If Chenney had to resign, Bush should stick it to the Dims and appoint Robert Bork as VP. He would make a good caretaker and not affect the GOP selection for a candidate in 2008.
Buffalo has websites all over?
Who knew?
Oh yes, look at my links in my home page, there is alot more than that.

When I started this thread I didn't think the story was true. Now that I've contributed it, I realize just HOW untrue it is.
Cheney's just the right VP. The only way I see him going is if the "health reasons" excuse is actually true for once.
I hasten to add i don't think it's true. (Now I'm wondering why I felt compelled to write that twice...uh oh... what, what...what if...?)
very reliable sources tell me. (voices in my head)
I've been meaning to talk to you about those voices. You're going to have to tell them to turn the volume down. I can still hear them. LOL
OMG... I'd die laughing. The dems would look like those rubber toys where the eyes and tongue bulge out when you squeeze them.
Ding, ding, ding!
We have a winner.
George H.W. Bush was only the second sitting VP to be elected President. Martin Van Buren was the first.
Well, if this is partially true, why does it have to be a senator? The president has many pockets to pull from.
Me too.
That was in pre-filibuster days.
Nowadays, the Democrats would be sure to filibuster anybody to the right of Lincoln Chaffee.
