OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 456 processors and 209 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with over a dozen folders now from GetLoaded.com all popping onto the hit list this week.
Special mention to Klutz Dohanger, who has quietly volunteered over 100 systems to fold. That is 20% of all of the Free Republic Folders systems actively engaged in research. Klutz is the first to earn 100,000 points.
We now have ten members who have contributed at least 10,000 points each. Malsua, Ken in Texas, Andrewksu, LSimpson and kingu have all reached this milestone, and Uriah will join them next week. Great job!
Even more impressive, our team now boasts 113 members who have folded at least 1,000 points. That is more than the entire number of CPUs folding for our erstwhile left-wing environazi competitors!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 487. We are poised to overtake (today):
MaximumCPU (these guys are serious overclockers)
BadgerBadgerBadger
ECU-SCIS-Cluster (82 CPU cluster in Australia)
BensCustomCases
Greenland HS in Winslow, AR Tech Labs
and the Univ of Stoney Brook Math Club, Stoney Brook NY
As we continue to grow there are a number of milestones coming around the bend:
Top 400 by next Friday
Top 300 by the end of the month
We have 610,000 points so far and have folded over 5,000 WU. We will reach:
750,000 points by Jan 24
1,000,000 points by mid February
Thanks again to all that are helping us advance science and promote the peaceful use of computers.

Sure hope I ain't smellin' the fiddling fingers of rats on our point awards.
I haven't seen any 600 point units for like a week now. Maybe there just aren't as many in the pipeline lately.
It'll vary beased on your machine. But I can say that the Amber and Tinker cores don't appear to use SSE optimizations, which causes them to take longer than they otherwise could.
beased?
Well, I haven't changed a thing since I started but my average daily production started dropping like a rock last week.
It does look like you've dropped off since your first week:

Not sure what to make of it though, except that it looks like you had a stretch (1/12-1/14) where it must have been grinding away without returning a completed unit. Or you didn't get credit for one that was completed.
That makes sense. For a while, I seemed to get them pretty consistently on one machine here - now it's all 450 point QMD units, which is nice because they take about a day versus 2-1/2 days for the 600 point ones, so I actually get more points out of it :)
I am, however, a tin foil-hatter from time to time and would hate to think that some liberal hack was behind a noticeable decline in our scoring.
I think that was the Amber core, looking through your completed results. Slow, and not worth much pointswise. Just bad luck, most likely :(
Yeah, you're prolly right. But my production has plummeted for some reason.
BTW, you need to slow down, you're crawling up my six! LOL
:O)

Hey, look at my bud, Greenbo. He just started folding in the last week or so. He only has 3 machines, too!
WTG, Greenbo!
:O)

I wonder what would happen if all the FR folders used your tagline for a while papa.
I hope so. I can deal with that, np.
Muahaha - I got the smurf in my sights. Until his pals come gunning for me, anyway :)
Team Average PPWU (points per work unit) = 123
papasmurf = 105
greenbo = 127
houeto = 95
Senator Bedfellow = 242!!!!!!!
Well, you know what they say about politicians...LOL
BTW, Klutz only averages 120.
Actually, I got a whole slew of 600 point units from the beginning a few weeks ago - maybe 5 of them in a row, so that's 3000 points right there...
Everybody was using a similar tag until the feces hit the fan, that's where I got it from. :)
Senator: I wonder if there is a way to attach to THAT server only?
:O)
P
LOL - that'd be nice. Although, like I said, I figure I'm actually coming out ahead on the QMD units. I can do two, maybe three, of the 600 point units per week for a max of 1800 points, or I can do 6 of the QMD units at 450 points each, for about 2700 points per week. :)
